Jordie’s neck prickled, thinking of the hard-eyed stare in the Crow Club.
“I’ve been in enough harbours for one lifetime, thank you.” he said.
He was rewarded with a very faint smile.
“...you’re not as dissimilar as he’d like, you know.”

“I came off the roof of a bank and shattered my leg, and we still got away with thirty thousand kruge,” Kaz snapped. “Don’t lump me in with the sad sobs that get dragged outside the clubs and maimed. No one got the goddamn jump on me, alright?”

I try and try to clear my mind, but I find my mind's been intertwined with gory thoughts and there's nothing I can do.
