or: a romance about secrets, longing, and the terrifying act of being seen.
(apparently the only cure to my sickness is to put rin in a cozy café game at 11 p.m. and let him fall in love by accident.)

Summary
Itoshi Rin found himself clicking away at his phone every night, unable to escape its grasp. It was supposed to be their two weeks off after their triumphant match against the Japan U20 team. Blue Lock had emerged victorious, and they finally earned the well-deserved rest they craved. But for Rin, it wasn't a period of relaxation; it was a return to the suffocating grip of loneliness.
Maybe getting everyone's socials was a mistake.

“Kim Dokja,” she addressed me again.
“What’s my name?”
I felt something tug at the corners of my mouth, as the helpless feeling came over me again. After a few seconds I realized it must have been a smile. The woman’s eyes darkened, and I felt like the room had grown a little quieter.
“I’m sorry,” I managed to get out, fighting with my mouth to get the words to form properly.

Summary
Basil looks up at him, brows quirked in confusion yet unable to hide the playful smile growing on his face. He nudges Sunny’s side gently. “What’s with that look? What are you thinking about?”
So much, he initially plans to say, too much. All of it and everything. Everything, so much, yet way too little at the same time, he would further explain. You. You and everything you love. You and everything you are. Your smile, your hair, your eyes, your hands, your laugh, your voice. You. I’m thinking about you, he would confess, breathless.
And I can’t stop thinking about you, he would say.
“I love you,” Sunny says instead.

Ego recites the following. "Diamonds in the rough. The time has come for the fourth stage of Blue Lock. The Partner-Up Switch Stage." Nobody knows what he means until he explains it further. "This next stage will require two partners--however, I will be the one to choose who you get partnered up with. This next stage will force you and your partner to form a workable, battle-field relationship as you'll room up with this person, and switch Neo-Egoist League Teams with." Isagi's eyes go wide, names popping up on the screen who are partnered together.
However, he notices after a brief period, his name is not up there.
He waits and finds out the news he's partnered up with Rin Itoshi.
After what happened against their Paris X Gen versus Bastard Munchen match, it's going to be chaos.
(Summary: Isagi and Rin are paired up to switch Neo-Egoist League Teams, and they have to get over their hardships to work together. Some things lead to another and they find they don't mind each other's company as much as they thought they did.)

Summary
Rin lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling blankly. Somehow, his first day at school paled in comparison to the stars that were in Isagi's eyes when the boy looked up at him.
His mind wandered, remembering how he used to carry those stars too. He remembered the days before the Incident, before nii-chan—no, Sae pushed him away, back when he still dreamed with his whole heart.
Rin steadied his breathing, ignoring the surge of anger at the thought of broken promises and crushed dreams.
(Or: Rin quits football after the fight with Sae. He moves town and meets someone there who will give him a new reason to play.)

Summary
Soulmate connections weren't new. Everyone had a soulmate. Everyone knows they have them. The strength of a soul bond would be entirely independent to each individual, to each connection. Some saw colours (or lack thereof), some saw the red string of fate, some had their names written, and some had their first words.
The truly rare ones were the ones with a mental and emotional connection.
The bond didn’t mean much. If anything, the bond was more trouble than it was worth. The connection was simple: you would only feel the most intense of emotions that belonged to your respective soulmates. These emotions would occur in events where an individual would feel fear in the face of great peril, or grief from a deceased loved one, or joy from winning a once in a lifetime reward, or literally anything that would trigger what Isagi liked to call a ‘really really big wham of an event’.
---
Aka: Isagi feels as if his entire life is a 'big wham of an event'. Thanks Rin.
