Summary
On the day before Valarr’s wedding, he finds himself feeling vastly more nervous than he expected about the prospect of laying with a woman. His whole life, only men interested him – an interest he did not share with Kiera, for she only had eyes for women. That was why they thought getting married would be a grand idea that would lead them to a life lived fully – and Valarr still thought so. He simply didn’t know if he was going to be able to perform and actually seal their marriage properly during the bedding ceremony.

What answered Fenris was not gratitude this time, but a torrent of yearning for warmth. Their lips welcomed each other’s with hunger and their hands gripped on each other as if there was nothing else in the forgotten by the Maker darkness. Fenris all but ripped off his gauntlets and let them fall somewhere on the shore of the stream, all so that he could dig his fingers into the long blond hair tarnished with blood and blight and soot.

Summary

On one of such nights, there's a new elven hire at the counter who's not very friendly at first, but proves to be a pleasant banter companion as they continue meeting, night after night. Eventually, Anders starts to wonder if perhaps he should arrange some kind of meeting for them outside the coffee shop as well...

They grew up and their bond only deepened, and he hoped that it was strong enough for him to convince Leto to not go through with the ritual.
