It started with a mistake. He wasn’t supposed to find the photos. The journals. Years of stolen moments, proof that Cartman had been watching him, studying him, collecting pieces of him.
He should have confronted him. He should have burned it all. Instead, Kyle took a journal home.
Now, the obsession is no longer one sided.

JEW BOX
He stopped in his retrieval and just blinked in bewilderment. As far as he was aware, there was only one Jew that Cartman knew and could have a box dedicated to. Curious, Kyle forgot about the pencil and dragged the box from under the bed instead. It was quite hefty, resisting when he pulled it. He managed to shimmy it out against its will and, crouched over it on his knees, he could see on the top, written across the lid in the same thick black marker as the writing on the side, was a warning.

Kyle checked over his shoulder. Cartman wasn't back yet, and Kyle couldn't hear his returning footsteps either. It was probably okay to take a quick peek inside then, just a little one…
Kyle opened the box.

It's 1993: five years since Vecna was defeated. Everyone has moved on from Hawkins, but Mike stayed behind. After four years of wallowing in regret and replaying the nightmares of the Upside Down & Vecna, Mike finally decided to move away from Hawkins.
When he arrives in Indianapolis, Mike swiftly discovers that what he tried to run away from followed him. Mysterious new creatures have been attacking Indianapolis. To Mike's surprise, superheroes *do* exist and they exist in Indianapolis: a four-person group called "The Demolitionists". Violent creatures, D&D parallels, powers, and secret identities. Will Mike Wheeler the budding, determined journalist get to the bottom of it all?

The year is 1994 and the party is scattered. Most of them have moved on with their lives, putting the horrors of their pasts behind them.
Will is living in Brooklyn, attending Pratt Institute and is happy as can be... almost. He can't seem to shake the feeling that something is missing. Though he's worked hard to move forward with his life, vague memories of what could've been haunt him more than he'd like to admit.
Mike never left Hawkins. His stories never seem to find a better ending than his own, and he has no one left. He was stupid to think anything would stay the way it was, even after everything. Of course everyone left. Everyone - except One.

Mike was silent. He hadn’t misunderstood.
“And there’s my proof,” Lucas leaned back in his chair with a smirk.
“Okay, so what if I’m-” Mike’s voice cut off, he’d never said it out loud before.
“In love with Will?” Lucas interjected, finishing the sentence for him.
“Yeah, that,” Mike sighed, shrinking into himself.
“So you go to him and profess your undying affection for him,” Lucas dramatized.
or: Mike runs away from home and decides to make one last bad decision before ending it all. The only thing is, it didn't necessarily go according to plan... perhaps better than Mike was expecting.
