Summary
An endless loop, the same thing constantly replayed over and over again. Nothing to stop it. It's the same old, same old, no expectations of anything new because there simply couldn't be. Every ending led back to the beginning.
So imagine the shock of a priest, tourist, and expendable when the loop halted. It wasn't the same old because there was something new in play.
Shocking, of course, none know just how to feel at first, only answer seemed to be pointing fingers and saying clearly the other was a threat.
Not that they knew as a group, but they knew individually that this meant there was hope for their loop to stop. For good.Through their hatred they learn that, MAYBE, they should listen to the guy who's been replaying the loop through gathering this stupid crystal and KNOWS the place, and MAYBE that guy should stop being a prick and learn to communicate.
He can say it's because they haven't had human contact in years worth of this loop all he wants, but can he really tell himself that's what it is when his mind goes blank at the thought of losing these people?

Three years ago, there was an unsuccessful coup on Dreamland’s monarchy. The only thing keeping Meta Knight from execution was his usefulness, and perhaps the tears of the star-child himself. In those years he remained King Dedede's knight for the purposes of protecting Dreamland and preserving his life, though he was forced to stay in the castle walls and obey Dedede's every order. It was miserable—for both of them.
And surely things would have stayed that way, were it not for the crashing of an alien ship and the interruption of a picnic neither of them had wanted to attend.
OR
Dedede and Meta Knight learn not to hate each other via the common goal of hating Magolor and wanting to protect their respective children.
