He sees her walking with her sleeves in front of her, doing her best to keep her face as low as she can, those cool eyes of hers trained on her feet in front of her, taking one careful step at a time. He sees her first before he sees that she's walking behind the Son of Heaven and all his retinue - again, if you put it that way, it really does sound like some unusual kind of treason - and he hopes to all the deities above that nobody has noticed him bowing to His Majesty a beat or two too late.
(The Emperor has noticed, judging by the annoyingly smug grin on his face, but Jinshi wants to pretend he did not see that.)
If the Emperor asks your crush to help him with a puzzle he's spent years trying to figure out, does it mean he approves of her for you? Signs point to "yes", but they'll have to point Jinshi out of here first...
