“Nope!” Wade tilts his head back until he can see Logan’s face. He’s not usually frowning, but a smile isn’t particularly common, so Wade’s heart stutters in his chest at the small grin Logan is giving him.
“Hm.” Logan’s eyes stay on him for a second longer before they snap up to the TV. His smile fades away with it, and Wade sits there, all of his thoughts crashing and colliding as he tries to think of something that will bring it back.

Through interlopers' attempts to disband the Medjai, stopping potentially dangerous artefacts from leaving Egpyt, and self-entitled tourists Ardeth must work hard and be the leader his people need and deserve, but how can he do his best when all he can think about is Jonathan?
His heartsick wondering all leads to Ardeth telling Rick O'Connell "I'm sorry, my dear friend, I cannot attend your wedding. You see, I'm too busy thinking about Johnathan Carnahan" (which goes down about as well you can imagine)

“I have no idea how I’m supposed to answer that, dear sister,” he replies, “seeing as I have absolutely no idea what the current bestselling novels are.”
When Jonathan writes an adventure—definitely not a romance, thank you—novel based on the whole Imhotep debacle, he doesn't expect it to become the bestselling pulp sensation of the decade. With hindsight, perhaps he should have made some of the real life parallels less obvious, especially when it comes to the dashing romantic lead, Abir Rey.
Thankfully, there are no bookshops in the desert, so the chances of Ardeth reading it are blessedly slim.
