He can't keep away the young noblemen from her forever, so he makes an airtight plan to finally bring Link and Zelda together: a winterly journey through Hyrule for just the two of them should be romantic enough to encourage them making a move.
And things are moving—just not the way Rhoam thought they would. But Rhoam wouldn't be the King of Hyrule, if he didn't have answers to that, too.

At the time, Link—never a social butterfly with new people anyway—had shrugged and taken the neighbor’s advice.
“Bosphoramus,” she supplied. “You’re Link Firly, yes?”
“Yes,” he breathed, and shook her hand.
It was warm.

Link looks down at the trolley, then back at Zelda, and finally he turns and points the flashlight to the elevator's ceiling.
“Then we’re hijacking out of here.”-
The plan was simple: Zelda would wake up early to pack her belongings, take a ride to the city airport, and reach her parents’ house in Castle Town before dinner. It just happened to be one of those days where things didn’t go according to plan.

Zelda wakes up the morning after a nightmare and realizes that healing isn't linear, it's ok to feel happy even after a traumatic experience, and sometimes home is a person.

“Obviously, no one can know it’s a ruse,” Zelda said. “If anyone finds out, my father will call off his blessing, and both of us will be back to square one.”
Link nodded.
Zelda suddenly felt too warm, and she decided to shuffle over to her desk, which was a good distance from Link, and dig around for a piece of paper and a quill. “It’ll be good for us to write it out,” she said, more for herself than for Link, who sat on the other side of her desk expectantly.
Why did he look like he was waiting to get marching orders? Like he might have been almost eager for it?
She focused on writing out the first rule. “Rule number one, no one can know.” She penned the words carefully. “We have to look genuinely head over heels for each other.”
