Summary
Cas was a big shot homicide detective in the city. He solved cases no one else could solve, until he met the business end of a gun. No one quite knows the circumstances leading up to his death, but one thing's for certain: he is missed by friends and colleagues alike.
Y/n was one of his closest friends. Her grief leads her to the Roadhouse, a place Cas frequented. It's there she happens to meet Dean Winchester, Cas's work partner. They worked every case together, putting away bad guys and making sure they stayed there. This chance encounter leads Y/n into a danger she never saw coming. Turns out Cas's killer, or killers, wants to eliminate anyone who may know anything about the case. Y/n is on that list.
When her life is put in danger, Dean sees no other choice than to protect her, even if that means with his life. Will they catch the people responsible for killing Cas and coming after Y/n, or will there be at least two more victims on their kill count? -

Summary
Castiel and Y/n have been living together ever since Dean left the bunker. They eventually moved out altogether. One day, Y/n wakes up from a restful night to find Cas is missing and all that's left behind is a note saying not to look for him or he'll be killed. She doesn't know what else to do, so she calls Dean. It's been over a year since they last spoke, but she needs his help. They go on a hunt to find Cas.
And it takes Dean for Cas and Y/n to realize they've been harboring something for each other for a long time.
