There's something there, some realization that's just out of her reach, infuriatingly close but slipping through her fingers like sand every time she tries to grasp at it. It's like she's asking for something without knowing what she's asking for, wanting something without knowing what it is.
It's frustrating, and Rumi wills herself to block it out so she can just sleep. She's exhausted, and the annoyingly cryptic messages her brain is trying to send her are only adding to her headache.

Wednesday’s protective hand on her lower back as she led Enid through crowds, assertive despite her stature. The glare she gave men when they leered at Enid too long, or in all honesty, looked at her all. The rare sight of her back and shoulders, muscles shifting, and toned from years of fencing. The accidental, very brief glimpses of the very tops of her stockings, and the way the plush flesh of her thighs spilled over the edge just so. And the way she smelled, God, the way she smelled.

So, when a chatter starts to help with her cash flow problems, maybe a little give and take is fair play? When her friend Mira comes back into her life, and with this new bit of fun on the horizon, maybe things are starting to look up?
Rumi is finally free. After years of struggling under the light and airy image the studio had chained her to, her contract is over, and she can make the music she wants, do the things she wants, and she can stop putting on the performance. When one of her only real outlets, a small streamer who seems to be a fan that she has found herself watching time and time again, admits to having money problems, she doesn't think twice about throwing cash at the issue. When it starts to become more than that, she starts to hope that maybe this new chapter in her life will have some new characters too.
