When Mr Harrington announces the class field trip to Stark Industries, Peter takes a moment to feel extremely sorry for himself, before he sucks it up and prepares himself for an embarrassment-induced death. Privately, he apologises to Tony, who had almost died to bring Peter back from the dead -well, Peter and every other person in the universe- because clearly Tony’s almost-sacrifice would be in vain now, because yep, Peter was definitely going to die.

oo0ooPeter Parker knew two things for certain, one, that he was obsessed with TikTok and two, that he was hopelessly in love with one Harley Stark. They two had been friends for a little less than a year and Peter had mentally planned their wedding about a hundred times if he was being honest with himself. In an idiotic sleep-deprived haze, Peter made a stupid decision- he decided he was going to pronounce his all-consuming love for Haley Stark by kissing him on video for TikTok, here is how that went...

This probably could've been a short multiple part fic but I felt it worked better as a one-shot. It is really just a 4K drabble that started as Peter doing a TikTok trend that turned into an accidental meet cute fic and first kiss fic instead- but that is life :)

“It’s not one missed dinner, and you fucking know that!” Peter steps back as if he didn’t mean to yell. His chest is heaving. He looks tired, Harley realizes, about as tired as Harley feels all the time, and a fresh wave of guilt washes over Harley, prickling at his skin and rolling through his stomach. “Harley, it’s not just one missed dinner. It’s a bunch of missed dinners, it’s not speaking to you for more than two minutes before you walk out the door. It’s living in the same house and feeling alone, all the time. It’s me, looking like an absolute ass because I keep insisting that my fiance is going to show up, and he never does. It’s all of those things, Harley, all the time.”
Harley swallows down the urge to bow his head and cry for forgiveness. “That’s not fair, Peter. I have so many responsibilities. You know that. I fix the Avengers’ shit, I fix our shit, I help our friends and I have school, school work, I do my internship, and—”
“I know!” Peter wrings his hands as he walks closer. “But I’m so damn tired of being the last on this list, Harls. Why am I always last?”

“Okay, but what if-”
“May,” Tony cuts in, trying to sound as reassuring as he can given the circumstances. “Relax. I’m taking care of it, I promise. Can you think of any reason he might have taken off?”

Summary
Somehow, Tony Stark was able to wield all six Infinity Stones and come back still breathing. It shocks everyone, but the world moves on, restoring itself back to where everyone once was. But this time, however, it's without Iron Man there. It's no shock Tony retired; he has a family to take care of, including an overwhelmed Peter Parker, who's trying to figure out his (and Spider-Man's) place in the world, and whether or not he's ready to start saving it on the daily. As if he doesn't already have too much on his plate (such as but not limited to: his concerned aunt, a new role as an Avenger, his friends concerned about his mental state, a little five-year-old girl excited about her so-called brother's return, his mentor he has yet to internally accept as a true father figure, and the world's pressure on Spider-Man that he's probably over exaggerating), Tony drops a seventeen-year-old boy right at his feet. A cute, charming boy that Peter can't quite understand.
They get along. Peter starts caring, more than he realizes, and finds safety in Harley Keener.
Nobody's gonna take that away from him.
(But they'll try.)
