Summary
The first thing Jayce expects to feel when he comes to is pain. It’s surprising for him to realize that, instead, for a few frantic beats of his heart, all Jayce notices is warmth. He spares a fleeting moment of wonder; has he found the afterlife? Or at the very least, maybe he’d found himself somewhere in the vast endlessness of the arcane, where stardust and fragments of lit-up energy float peacefully. Has he become part of that very collection of fragments? After all, Jayce never expected to find consciousness ever again, painful or otherwise.
Then the pain sets in.

When Jayce and Viktor survive what surely felt like the end, Jayce should be relieved. Elated even. And he is! But there's a problem, actually, a BIG one. They can't touch. When they do, they find themselves in timelines that aren't theirs, shoved through one anomaly jump after another, with no clue how to get back home. What's worse, the jumps take a quick and clear toll on their bodies, flooding their veins and scarring their skin with a spreading corruption they don't know how to stop. Can they find their way home before the uncontrollable power of the arcane kills them both?

He accepted his fate long ago, but Ed makes him wonder, what if it weren’t like this? And is it worth it to risk everything for a chance at a deeper connection he’s always yearned for?

Summary

With the king set to marry his son off to whichever candidate he deems the strongest, Ed's already risky plan becomes even more complicated when he poses as a potential suitor to get inside the palace. Stede, the prince, is nothing like he expected, and as Ed becomes more and more enamoured with him, he finds himself trapped in a convoluted web of lies when the king decides that 'Lord Edric' is to be Prince Stede's betrothed.

Ed was silent as they stepped into the elevator, and he let out a long breath once the doors slid shut on the two of them. “I like you,” he said, his eyes on Stede’s in the mirrored door. “It’s just…my life….”
Stede reached out and took his hand, giving it a light squeeze, then tugged until they were facing each other. “Tonight’s just tonight,” he said again, lifting his free hand to cup Ed’s cheek and letting his eyes drop to Ed’s mouth. “We can handle that.”
“Yeah,” Ed breathed. He leaned in and let his nose brush Stede’s, his breath a tease against Stede’s lips.
