Summary
You know, when Igor had asked Akira to go back in time to save a previous guest after his final and epic battle with the false god, Yaldaboth, and had fallen unconscious (and maybe died, because head meet Shibuya pavement), he had some kind of expectations. Maybe something similar to what he experienced when he first arrived in Tokyo. He would hear about some kind of suspicious and unexplainable phenomenon. Then follow the vaguely supernatural trail and just so happen to stumble upon the Persona happenings in the city.
All while being a good transfer student at Gekkoukan High.
He did it once, he could probably do it again.
What Akira had not expected was to find himself in a very concerning situation when he had just so happened to take a midnight scroll that went against his pretty strict sleep schedule. Black coffins stood where people used to be and blood pooled on the ground. And over the entire scene, a full green moon shined down on the entire scene.

It was supposed to be a proper summer road trip this year. No combat, no god-slaying, no desperate last stand to save the world from certain ruin. But fate has ever had a habit of stringing Joker away from the peaceful and mundane, hasn't it?
Not that even he could have ever expected to be hailed as the 'Warrior of Light'.
Kind of ironic, really.Or: a Persona 5 x Final Fantasy XIV crossover fic in which Joker, instead of a much-belated post-Strikers break, gets his ass Isekai'd into The Source and somehow winds up in the role of Eorzea's champion. As one does.
(Both Royal and Strikers compliant, for the most part. Spoilers for all that and, if I can actually keep it up, the entirety of FFXIV. Protagonist's name is Ren Amamiya.)

Being: Akira Kurusu has been struggling for the past year to come to terms with the apparent death of his teammate Goro Akechi. He refuses to believe the young man he dared to care for is dead - but has no evidence to prove otherwise. Night terrors and flashbacks plague him constantly.
Nothing: Goro Akechi is caught in limbo, not quite living but not permitted to die - and he waits for his final judgment to strike.
Becoming: Through the help of a fellow Wild Card and a single admission to himself, Akira sees the door to the Velvet Room unlocked once more - and a chance to bring a certain detective back to the land of the living. All he has to do is find his way back into the Metaverse he thought had been destroyed.

Summary
Akira startled, not expecting Akechi to appear in the middle of the room out of thin air. The snarl of murderous intent on his face was more expected, and Akira made a futile attempt to pull away from him and duck under the table. He was stopped short by the shackles around his legs and his current inability to get his body to respond as quickly as he wanted. The chair slipped out from under him, and he crashed heavily to the floor.
Plans never survive first contact with the enemy.
