Summary
Whatever they do, they do it while he’s under, and then he’s hauled back to the bridge with nothing but gauze holding him together. Thrawn takes Atollon before his eyes, and Kallus manages to fight his way to the Rebellion by the skin of his teeth.
But safety doesn’t necessarily mean it’s over. He’s hot, and he’s hurting, and it goes on longer than any healing should. It gets worse, even. He struggles to be useful, and hides it for as long as he can.
But he has never been able to hide anything from Garazeb Orrelios.

It's June 1992 just outside of the small town of Endor, and Zeb is preparing for the start of summer camp at his adopted family's working Western-style horse ranch, Rebel Ranch. While it is nice to come home after being away at college for the past year, Zeb knows he'll have to deal with his childhood nemesis, the excessively rich and spoiled Alexsandr Kallus from the neighboring fancy English riding facility and summer camp, Empire Equestrian Centre. Will this just be another summer of the usual shenanigans with his best friends and the all-too-common fights with Kallus, or does this summer have something else in store for him?
There's summer campfires, trailrides, hiking, camping, and forays into multiple equestrian activities all set to the music of the late 1980's and early 1990's in America. Word to your mother!

Alex looked absolutely perfect right now, hair loose and face open and relaxed, wearing a soft knitted cardigan and holding a baby in his arms, looking for all the world like a domestic daydream. He was beautiful. They were beautiful, and Zeb was struck with a wave of adoration so powerful it nearly took him to his knees.

Summary
Alexsandr Kallus has the most obvious crush on his best friend, and at every turn he's sure he's going to slip up and say something stupid that reveals everything. Then he actually does slip up, and he realizes that maybe revealing everything isn't such a bad idea.
