Originally, this was based on this ask for Dekariosclan and her beautiful answer, I tried to write such an intro.
As I am writing this to entertain you, I asked for input. The Tumblr Council has spoken, leading to a rewrite of Chapter 1.
I hope you enjoy this.
The idea is a (female) Tav from our world - who has played BG3 - being thrown into Faerûn. I changed the tags to "Canon Rewrite" because I have no interest in retelling the game story and will rather focus on the experience, so there will be slight changes.

Summary
Four years after the events of Baldur's gate, Gale and his lady love have gone through a lot. They've repaired their relationship with Mystra, Accidentally created an alternative form of the weave, reconciled with the adult daughter they never knew existed and defeated Shar's plans for revenge. The two have lost each other, re-discovered their love (and their memories), and with Gale now secure in his role as Mystra's chosen, everything seems calm and settled.
Now, with the alternative Dekarios weave fully embedded within our narrator, our heroes are safely tucked away within their tower trying to work out how to control this unpredictable form of magic, and living their best lives in a sunny Waterdeep summer. But once again, there are problems ahead. Their gifts are a little too tempting to enemies who have everything to gain and nothing to loose.
Prepare for some angst and suffering, as well as a hefty dose of smut and Gale's practiced tongue... :)
WARNING: Non-Consent coming in Chapter Five.

Summary
Echo has lived her life tucked away in the forests of Tethir, learning magic through the pulse of nature and the songs of creation. She's good with magic, but not people, which isn't really a problem until she's scooped up by mind flayers and has to get along with six strangers lest they all share a tentacle-y doom. And she manages to get along with most of them -- but then there's Gale of Waterdeep. Despite a terrible first impression, she finds he is actually much kinder than all the mansplaining would suggest.
This is a series of relationship scenes about my weird little mushroom hermit, a wizard who shows compassion and arrogance really can coexist, and how academic rivalry is like first base for wizards.

Summary
This fic is a spin off AU of the Gale/Tavi fic “Carrying Your Love With Me” in which Gale and Tavi slept together once after the final battle and then Gale left without notice, accidentally having gotten her pregnant. In the original fic that is still ongoing Tavi and Gale meet again later and are in the process of working things out and continuing their relationship, building trust. In that same fic Halsin has feelings for Tavi but they are unrequited, and Tavi is in love with Gale.
This fic however takes place during and after chapters 5 and 6 of CYLWM, but changes the outcome of Gale and Tavi’s reunion and conversation to have Gale double down on his duty to protect her when he finds out she is pregnant; leaving her alone once again.
She leans on Halsin who she has been avoiding her feelings for, and discovers her heart isn’t as broken as she thought. Can Halsin truly love her and a child that isn’t his?

Some things will be spoiled for CYLWM in this story, and some things may be spoiled for this story because of that story. So, just keep that in mind if you're reading both of them. Certain details will be the same in both, others will change.

But as he watched Tav oh-so-coolly saving lives from the Emerald Grove to Moonrise Towers and all the way to Baldur’s Gate, he realized that there was more to life than proving to the world that you were the best. Being great didn’t mean shit-all without the people who inspired you to greatness, and for Rolan, those people were Cal, Lia — and a certain green-eyed, cool-as-a-cucumber half-elf rogue from Baldur’s Gate.

When her friends eventually come to save her and brings him back his Orphic Hammer, Raphael will kill each and every one of them in front of her before claiming what is rightfully his: her soul...
…Tav isn't too bothered. She will figure something out eventually. Until then she just has to find a way to live peacefully with a devil.
