It was supposed to be a proper summer road trip this year. No combat, no god-slaying, no desperate last stand to save the world from certain ruin. But fate has ever had a habit of stringing Joker away from the peaceful and mundane, hasn't it?
Not that even he could have ever expected to be hailed as the 'Warrior of Light'.
Kind of ironic, really.Or: a Persona 5 x Final Fantasy XIV crossover fic in which Joker, instead of a much-belated post-Strikers break, gets his ass Isekai'd into The Source and somehow winds up in the role of Eorzea's champion. As one does.
(Both Royal and Strikers compliant, for the most part. Spoilers for all that and, if I can actually keep it up, the entirety of FFXIV. Protagonist's name is Ren Amamiya.)

In another world, the moon once threatened to fall, the deity imprisoned within leaving devastation in its wake that would later be referred to as the Calamity. It was stopped by a group of people that would only be remembered afterwards as the “Warriors of Light”.
Minato Arisato falls asleep for the last time in his own world, and awakens in another one entirely.

Before he could even make a sound something slammed into his back and sent him straight to the ground, his spear ripped out of his hand. Something heavy put pressure on his back, keeping him on the floor. It didn’t matter.

The cruelest thing about the Nameless was that they made it so easy to pretend that Sunday belonged. They fed that greedy, stupid, childish thing that cried out from within him, tossing enough scraps of amity for him to piece them together into something that felt like home. b. trouble finds the Trailblazers no matter where they go.or, the chronicle of the Astral Express trying, failing, and trying again to fit Sunday into their family.

He should have kept his mouth shut, Jiaoqiu thinks as the effects of the Anti-Lupitoxin pill start to wear off, trembling on his knees as wave after wave of debilitating fear washes over him.
What hubris to think he could somehow stall Hoolay. Jiaoqiu should have known that him trying to save anyone would be futile. In the end, his failed attempt to help will just end up making things worse instead.
