“The Towers” (Mirage’s home) =‘s “Celestial Spires”?
I like this Hound characterization! I didn’t know much about him before.
The Iacon history world building is neat too, along with the reality of war (thinking the base drama of the rumors around Jazz’s and Prowl’s relations was a necessary moral-lift/distraction because of all the recent losses)
I’m getting the idea the brig is like an adult time-out (this is the 2nd fic I’ve read mentioning Sideswipe and Sunstreaker ending up there again), which is hilariousOooh, I like this characterization of Prowl too! It’s interesting to see him not-yet the chief strategist, and also to see him vying for the emotional/moral side of things (prioritizing survivors over/along with energon).
(Really that whole scene was super cool)
Ha, I like the idea of wild animals like turbo foxes also naturally having “battle systems” to engage
Woah! I am loving the Mirage characterization. And the world building around the religion! And details of noble’s frames, and general Cybertronian anatomy!The description and whole scenario of the bombed out cities is horrifying. I found the theme for the Blasted Steps in Silksong (including the ambient wind) really matched the mood while reading.

In the Autobot Base, a solitary mech named Rage enrolls among others. Wishing to simply get away from his family, he ends up finding old and new companions willing to help him among the ranks. And maybe, find a better family.

Cool detail of nobles having a family crest, and being unaccustomed to people having different functions
This is an interesting different interpretation of noble Mirage, where he (previously) was supposed to be “seen not heard,” and kinda subservient
I like the descriptors of Mirage’s weight class / potential for speed & fluidity
And I appreciate the details of Mirage being jealous of Smokescreen for having loving siblings -

I like this. The mention of a past culture at Mirage’s home (a specific greeting previously used at “the Towers”) is nice world building. And the mention of feelings around his (Mirage’s) former aristocratic home growing more complex the longer time went since its demise, is especially interesting. Mirage’s general demeanor feels fitting for a noble. -

Ehehehe, excellent Prowl characterization and view of his thinking already. I’m enjoying the world building and details around how hacking and an interrogation might go in the beginning. I like the tribute to real hacking, what with the mention of admin permissions and such.I like the idea of mechs geared more towards thinking/analysis having sliiiightly less physical prowess than those engineered for combat. - And that when being hacked/mentally used, abrupt (or general) disconnects leave them disoriented and unable to move properly.
Ooh, the stasis cuffs concept is cool - they not only hold the hands, but restrict/sap overall strength/motion.
Interesting Prowl characterization: him taking promises very seriously.
I love the concept of Jazz using internal music to time escape sequences (or combat).Ch. 4 is hilarious. Most times when someone is being unexpectedly helped by the enemy in a do or die situation, they go with it because there are no better alternatives and it’s go-time. But Prowl? No he wants answers for why, and he’s not backing off until he gets them.

Prowl knew they were different, but he simply couldn’t remember why they were different. If he could find a way to unlock the memories hidden deep within his processor, he might finally know who he was and why he was as he was.
Having escaped the Institution with another youngling in tow, Red Alert could only hope they make it to the northern border in one piece. Ever wary of mechs, Red Alert is torn between believing that the strange, young Praxian indeed had no memory of who or what he was or that the mech would turn on him and kill him in his recharge.
With the war a few vorns in and with no end in sight, the two start their journey to the border in hopes of freedom...that is if they survive.

Mirage and Prowl interaction! I love them. And the showcase of Mirage’s skills!
I like that Prowl has faults around people, struggles around social scenarios, and admits them while he’s still incredibly intelligent and incredibly dangerous. His talents are simply more around tactics and logic. (And that logic includes seeing his faults, and finding skilled teammates to account for them).Ehehe, what a clever plan. I love getting to see Prowl play the long game.
All in all, very lovely story with very lovely characterization.New favorite version of Prowl confirmed? 👀
