Summary

Summary
On paper, Lieutenant Connor Reika is successful; he's one of the youngest to reach his rank at the DPD, with a great solve rate. In reality, Connor is hanging by threads as he struggles against his past, surviving the day only through his (many) unhealthy coping mechanisms.
HK800 is new to the world, it's view of humans consisting only of insults and hatred. When it's assigned to investigate the recent surge in deviancy, it meets Connor, and learns there is more to humans than it thought.
As Connor and HK800 investigate, they grow close, and through their newfound relationship both learn what it is to live.

The android revolution was over and they were all granted freedom. Autonomy. The opportunity to make decisions and to live their lives in the way they, and they alone, chose to. However, many disagreed with the outcome, and Gavin Reed of the Detroit Police Department was one of those individuals. As Connor searched for the remaining dregs of trapped androids, he came across something like himself, but not quite. An RK900 unit. And now he was Gavin's partner. Sent on a few cases together, one, in particular, draws out everything in Gavin's subconscious that he had fought to hide for many years. Despite his lack of knowledge of humanity and emotions, RK900 feels a need to help. Gavin struggles with his issues and struggles to understand himself. RK900 struggles to understand his feelings and everyone else's. Alternatively: two morons don't know how to feel without being a dick about it.

Gerard es un rechazado social con constantes labios rotos y sonrisas torcidas, Frank es un chico callado que se encierra a llorar en los baños esperando a que todos se vayan.
Ambos pasan mucho más tiempo del que deberían metidos en mundos que crean en sus mentes, mucho más tiempo del que disponen como todo hijo de vecino que va a la preparatoria y a veces tiene que trabajar. Frank es el chico sonriente que siempre usa una sudadera y que trabaja en las tardes en una cafetería de no mucho presupuesto. Gerard es el chico raro que se sienta a unos 10 metros de él durante los recesos y que ha descubierto la cafetería gracias a que lo siguió más de una vez.
Ambos están solos en el mundo aun cuando éste está lleno de personas.

RK900, the most advanced android CyberLife has to offer, is now himself a full-blown deviant. Connor couldn't be prouder! There's an ever-present, ever-growing need for androids like them (what with rampant anti-android hate crimes and Red Ice distribution growing exponentially). It only makes perfect sense that RK900 work alongside his predecessor, at least it should make perfect sense, but Detective Reed can't fathom why in God's green earth they paired the plastic prick with him.
[Or the one where RK900 is Gavin's partner, and he's having none of it (until he does).]
