Memories, too many memories, with Draco and Theo flooded her as the depths of this assignment sunk in, as the reality and proximity sunk in, only dragging her further beneath the surface. She was suffocating underneath it all: everything she had once shared with her dearest friends, every feeling she never should have felt for said friends, every reason she had left them- and nearly everyone else in her life- behind when she moved away from England two years ago.

The problem: they detest one another. So the clock is on for each of them to find a match before they are compelled to be with one another. Hermione does not have time for this.
A premise suggested by the Dramione Fanfic Recommendations 2.0 group.
This story is anachronistic. It’s occurring in present time, with all the inherent technological advances of the 2020’s, but also assumes the War has ended within the past 7 years. I wanted Hermione to have an Ouro ring.

“How do you plan to do that?” Hermione asked, annoyed to find her voice sounded quite breathless.
“Leave that to me,” Draco said, a smirk taking over his face that Hermione had never seen at Hogwarts; it was charming and dangerous at the same time. A flush crawled up her neck and sat beneath the dense twist of curls at the nape of her neck.
