Summary
In the wide, water-bound delta lands of the Sirion grow reeds taller than any man. Following the estuary to its end one finds the waterways open onto great white-sanded beaches, stretching as far South as half-elven eyes can behold. Elwing takes Elrond and Elros downriver to the beach for the day and together they discover small everyday wonders.

Summary
In my dreams my sons wander at length, lost in pathless woods, ancient, sunless and foreboding. In the waking world, Maedhros breathes and moves before me, but is rarely truly there. I see the dream-wraith Maedhros superimposed over my living son, and am sure he never found a path out of that desolate place. The whispers in my dreams insist he never will.
When Maedhros returns from Mandos, re-connecting does not prove easy. Nerdanel is determined to care for her son and finds that she must confront grief along the way.

“Bad dreams?” I ask, and Elrond nods. When I brush against his mind it laps like the tide against some desolate shore, and he stands alone in the washed out landscape. Young eyes rove over a heartless sea where the horizon is empty of all but tossing waves. White cliffs are at his back, reeds peek over sandy dunes southward along the shore, and Elrond’s heart fills with the hollow echo: no longer my home, no longer my home.
There is a new star in the sky and and old fears surface. Maedhros supports Elrond and Elros through their ensuing emotional turmoil as he battles his own.
Written for the SWG October Challenge 2025: The Only Thing to Fear using the prompt: fear of being alone.

It’s all right.” He extended an empty hand. “I’m called Berlun.” He tilted his head toward his friend. “My friend here is Gimril.”
Gimril raised his right hand in greeting and looked Tuor up and down before meeting his eye with a smile. “What do you say, son? Let us take you home.”
Tuor looked coolly from Gimril to Berlun’s outstretched hand, then locked eyes again with Gimril. “That is not my home.” He looked back to Berlun. “And I will not return to it alive.”

It's been a few months since Tuor escaped from thraldom and a few weeks since he found his way to the caves of Androth and left with no intention of returning. Lorgan has put a high price on his head and a higher one on his return alive and whole. Tuor is not having fun.
