Except for the big tall Russian one that wont stop staring at him like he knows something Shane doesn't. Like he's waiting for Shane to snap. Like he's begging Shane to do something.

But there was a buzzing warmth flooding his veins and a very loose grip on his rationality, so he headed away from the bar, through the lobby, and out onto the balmy Vegas strip. He leaned against a shadowed wall and scrolled to a contact he’d hovered over a thousand times before.
This time, he called.
Or: Five years after Rose helped Shane come to terms with his sexuality, he’s done everything else on his own. Coming out, surviving the backlash, being traded to Ottawa. This year marks thirteen year Shane Hollander's third summer at Coach Marakov's elite hockey training camp. In attendance for the first time: Ilya Rozanov, visiting from Russia. Shane isn't the most sociable, and Ilya's English isn't the greatest, yet the unlikely duo soon become the best of friends.
It's just one summer, but it makes a world of difference.
