Summary
When Petunia Dursley refused to take Harry in she forfeited his birthright protection, so Dumbledore took the baby to the safest place he knew: Hogwarts.
The applicable staff (mostly just… not Snape) took Harry in on a rotating schedule as he grew from baby to toddler to child. They traded extra credit for babysitting among the older students, and Harry grew up knowing a few dozen different laps that were safe and warm to nap in.
This was a Harry who grew up among books, among old transient walls and learned professors. They gave Binns night duty sometimes, and let him talk young Harry to sleep. This was a Harry whose world changed, on principle, daily. The stairs moved. The walls became doors. You had to keep your eyes open–you had to pay attention. So he did.
He grew up in a school. Knowledge was power, but knowledge was also joy. This was his sanctuary. There was magic in his world from birth.

Summary
For most of college, Grantaire was hopeless over Enjolras, and everyone but Enjolras knew it. Now he’s worked to get over his crush, and for the most part, he's fine. When Combeferre asks him to choreograph and dance in the Midsummer Night’s Dream-inspired opera he composed as his senior thesis, Grantaire says yes, even though he’s cast opposite Enjolras, as Puck to his Oberon. The chance to dance is worth the potential problems, and he'll have his friends as a buffer.
He doesn't count on long hours of practicing and choreographing and talking together, while they try to figure each other and their futures out. As much as he tries to avoid it, it seems inevitable that he falls for Enjolras again, and this time it isn't a crush.

“Yes.”
There’s the sound of movement as Combeferre unplugs his phone and settles back against his pillows. “And you, somehow—stupidly, I might add—decided to make her happy by agreeing to date someone?”
“Yes.” There’s a very pregnant pause. Enjolras curls and uncurls his hands into fists.
“Right,” says Combeferre. “We’re having this conversation tomorrow.” And then he hangs up.

Summary
Enjolras thinks too much, he thinks of red and black and the colours in between. He’s no artist, no poet. His words on paper are poor and worthless and it’s only when he speaks, when he can breathe life into each syllable and people turn to him and listen that he feels like he has something he can share with the world. He wants equality, he wants freedom and he knows that great people achieve great things and one day he could be great. He thinks of these things, of the leader he could be, the leader he will be. He thinks of dark curls and smirks that make him ball his hands into fists and the bruises on his palms from his nails and how his heart maybe does sink a little when he can’t see the grey beanie hat or the green cardigan when he speaks. He thinks too much.

Enjolras has lost his drive over the years. But when old images of him at rallies and old pamphlets he wrote surface in a protest wave against a new act about to be put to vote, Enjolras starts to rethink his position in life and his chosen path to change the country.
The reappearance of his teenage-sweetheart, a man he had thought he had forgotten and who seems to be unattainable all of a sudden, might also have something to do with that change of mind...
