Summary
On a world that Blood God regularly likes to fight on, he stumbles upon a loud and angry (and very feral) avian chick on the battlefield. It's, essentially, hate at first sight.
Or:
Phil grips his face, his talons digging into Techno’s cheeks, jerking Techno to look up at him. Techno can only watch with wide eyes as Phil leans down, their noses brushing against each other, eyes locked.
“No one else is allowed to beat you but me, got it?” he hisses, his eyes practically glowing in the tent, his pupils only thin slits. Blood trickles down Techno’s cheeks, and Techno has no idea if it’s his, Phil’s, or a random soldier’s, but it is blood all the same.

Summary
The Ship of Theseus is a thought experiment that asks the question of whether an object that has had all of its parts replaced remains fundamentally the same object. Tommy doesn't know enough about ships to care, and he's too busy trying to choose what college to attend to even think about his old name.
It also doesn't help that he's forced to visit his family again after five years.

Here, tucked away from the bustling of the castle and his enemies, protected from the freezing temperatures outside by fire runes and glowstone, Tommy could pretend that he was in the Bay, enjoying the sun’s rays and taking a short break from the boys and the war.He missed his home; he missed his family.

Summary
“Wilbur?” The boy asks softly, eyes stuck on Wilbur's corpse before flicking up to Phil's. “You killed him!” He accuses, voice already wet and cracking, and Phil lowers his sword, sighing.
Phil runs a hand through his hair tiredly, wincing at the red stain on his hands, because how can he explain to a teenager the weight of hearing your own child, your flesh and blood, ask to die as if it is the only thing keeping them alive? How can he explain that all a parent wants is to give their child whatever they ask for? How can he explain that Phil could barely even recognize his son in the man that pleaded for death? He can’t, and so instead all he says, tired and just a bit broken, is, “I’m Wilbur’s father.”
The boy clenches his fists and flashes his braces. “And I’m Wilbur’s brother.” He snarls, and Phil has just a second to process the absurdity of that statement, before the kid takes a step forward, brings back his fist, and punches Phil straight on the nose.

Phil and Tommy have never even met each other and have nothing in common, aside from their blonde hair and blue eyes and pale skin, and the fact that a dead man calls them both family.It's complicated.

Sure, his parents were home 3 days a month if he was lucky, and barely looked his way when they were there, but they were still his parents.

Tommy pinched his lips shut, continuing to glare at Wilbur through the budding tears in his eyes. He understood fully well what Wilbur meant — how could he not with the man’s history — and had it been maybe ten years ago, he would’ve been inclined to agree. But it wasn’t. It’d been fifteen years since the last recorded battle between the Empire’s Navy and any pirate crew of notability. Years of peace that had lasted for almost as long as Tommy had been alive, and now he was done living in fear of an era past and soon to be forgotten.
”The war has been over for years,” he whispered. ”The only one stuck in the past is you and I’m sick and tired of my life getting ruined because of it!”

He expected the heroes to say something about how his identity was now theirs. Surely Siren was cocky enough to taunt the fact he now knew what Nightlark looked like.
Instead, he was met with silence, Siren standing rod straight, a tenseness to his shoulders that Tommys never seen before.
“No fucking way,” Siren breathed, not more than a whisper in the night. “Tommy.”
or, Wilbur leaves Tommy in the foster system when he ages out. Tommy spends years on his own growing bitter towards the world, and when he develops powers, he decides to leave the group home and create a life for himself. There's something strangely familiar about the hero Siren, though, who seems hell bent on stopping his villainous activities.

Summary
He lets Techno hold him after his outbursts, exhausted and drained, lets the piglin chuff and purr and take care of him.
It was his only source of comfort throughout all of this, when Techno would hold him and let him doze off in his arms, all bundled up and warm, fed and sleepy. It was funny to think that his kidnapper was his source of comfort out in the snowy forests of Antartica, but here he was.
Slowly he was starting to see Techno less and less as a predator, and more like a friend if anything. It was kind of terrifying how fast his instincts switched up on him, latching onto Techno like a life line. He hates it— he hates it so fucking much but theres no way he can just stop it from happening.
Or Tommy, after being revealed as an avian, is kidnapped by Techno as a gift for Phil.
