Heartbreaking and beautiful, this does an amazing job with the premise of Ed being in the wrong universe while looking at the realities of war and the PTSD he would hold. Made me quietly cry through entire swaths of the last chapters, really captures the exhaustion of depression and disassoiative moments and life lived running all in one. Ending is perhaps abrupt but still resolves well and there may be more to come.

Would you like your heart broken? This is just so beautiful, carries the feeling of loss and desperation that comes from losing oneself, and everyone is so well written and trying so hard and oof the Dai Le, man. Just. Ow.
Has a conclusion, but could have also gone on for another 20k just as well. Great prose and well worth checking out!

Read. The. Warnings.
That said, this is a heart wrenching story. The premise in part is 'what if disassociation by trauma was a physical reaction' and so Zuko is 'dead' and a ghost that comes and goes in the lives of Iroh and the Gaang and it is terrible and wonderful and very well written over very sensitive subject matter. currently have read 6/7 chapters and I suspect this story will be staying with me for a long long time.

Just a beautiful, brilliant, heartfelt ride from start to finish. Great pacing, follows the story of ATLA but does a solid job of not replaying scene by scene - you don't need to know ATLA to read this, though it will hit harder if you do. One of the best stories for keeping the kids as kids, despite what they go through. Absolutely worth the read, be prepared for feelings and to maybe cry once or thrice.

"And then they were soulmates" but it goes in unexpected directions and i love the way it handles just what it might mean to remember all of those past lives. Warm and comforting and brilliant and hilarious all at once, not too heavy in politics at all, but with some great bits of Maes and Chris being sneaky.

So this is brilliant and also kinda heartbreaking but also with such a fantastic good natured and funny through line while literally being about dying? It's the best sort of black humor I can see Ed engaging in and has a really great sense of pace and timing.
Follows the 2003 anime, keep that in mind.

This is one of those stories that just has such fantastic flow through the whole thing you feel a bit like you're running downhill and almost but not quite flying or falling and forever caught in that in between feeling.
It's a brilliant short world build and look at religion in the world of FMA. Well worth the read.

There are not enough words for the aching beauty of this series. The world build, the prose, the language and the heart are all excellent but its the second part that really reached into my chest and squeezed my heart until I was very nearly sobbing. Absolutely worth a read.

This takes the idea of Midoriya parroting back what he's been told about quirkless people all of his life in anger/sarcasm, and Aizawa overhearing it and misunderstanding, and makes it a very real look at how that may play out. Well written, short but sweet, and my only complaint is I wish there was more! Give it a read!

Every bit of this feels so real, so grounded, and so brilliant. Probably the best 'hacking' descriptions I have ever read. The feelings are subtle but pack a solid punch, and the whole thing feels real and lived in, like an episode of Leverage with special guests.
