“I didn’t,” Shouto says, sitting down and gesturing for Izuku to do the same. “But I’ve never been one for ghost stories.”
“Oh really? I think that if I didn’t want to be a hero so bad, then I would’ve been a ghost story,” he confesses. Shouto frowns, concern etching on his face.
“What makes you say that?”
Izuku looks at him and smiles. He tucks his knees close to his body and rests his chin on them.
“Because sometimes,” he says thinking of seeing the ghosts of the One for All holders now, of the statistics of Quirkless deaths, “I feel like I’m in one.”
Midoriya cannot carry the burden of One for All by himself any longer. Lucky, each time he tells someone it gets a little bit easier to share the load.
