Sound familiar? Well... about that...
A crack-ish fic about a Tom Riddle who had no idea that his mother was a witch, but assumed she was from the circus as Mrs. Cole had said. At Hogwarts he learns of prejudice, but instead of embracing it and cultivating a supermacist, muggle-hating persona, he goes the opposite direction after being called mudblood one too many times and deciding to roll with it. Genius to a fault but considered an outcast, Tom surrounds himself with others like him, including the unpopular Myrtle Warren and the half-giant Rubeus Hagrid. The rag-tag bunch of Hogwarts pariahs form a close bond over the fact that everybody looks down on them and the mutual hatred for Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans (and Olive Hornby, that bint). Features a not evil but insane Tom Riddle.

Sorry my crazy ex’s awful family did a genocide while colonizing your planet a schmillion years ago? Like, shit happens man. It was a schmillion years ago. Get a facial piercing and move on.
Or, after a breakup sends Zim (totally not fleeing!) back into space, Dib resigns himself to his new job: acting as a mediator between humans and cryptids– who are all actually just alien refugees, by the way. Years later Dib has settled, if not comfortably, into a lonely routine. Which obviously means Zim has to show up again and ruin everything. With no ship and his PAK on the fritz, Zim is suddenly one of those alien refugees that Dib, despite their history, has to protect. He just has to convince the other aliens that the new resident Irken can play nice, first. You know. Easy.
