Angel shrugs, and then lets out a strained laugh. “I’m not exactly sure how to ask this, but can you dom me? Like platonically? Non-sexually? Fuck, I never thought I would be saying that.” Angel laughs again, and Husk can hear the tears forming as it catches in Angel’s throat. The spider is blushing furiously, eyes glistening, still chuckling under his breath; Husk is starting to worry that Angel is delirious.
The cat blinks slowly. “What exactly do you mean by that?”
“Can you…” Angel trails off, burying his face in his hands. His fingers claw at his hair. “I don’t know what I want. I’m so fucking confused. I need you to be in control right now.” Angel meets Husk’s eyes in a deep stare, and there’s so much confusion and terror in them that it nearly makes Husk cry as well. “I don’t care what you do to me…” Angel inhales shakily. “Just tell me I’m doing a good job at least.”

Trying to get clean, Angel deals with the unfortunate reality of his job without drugs to get him past the worst of it. Husk takes care of him when he drops.

It started as a stray comment over a drink—a joke about discipline that neither of them took seriously. But with the pressure from Heaven mounting and Valentino becoming unbearable, the joke stops being funny. Angel is spiraling, and when he finally snaps at Charlie, the guilt threatens to swallow himwhole.
In which Angel asks for a spanking to get out of his own head, and Husk proves that while his paws might be soft, his hands are steady enough to catch a falling spider.

Summary
Angel has a bad day at work. Which in itself isn't anything new, but it is a bad day even by Angel's "bad day" standards. He looks like shit with blood decorating his torn clothes and used up body, and he feels even worse.
Husk, caring as always, tries to help him, but some of his actions don't make sense in Angel's mind no matter how much he wants to understand them. So, Angel does what he does best: flirts, lies and shouts, and tries to push away one of the only people who ever cared about him.
Only when he realizes he might actually manage to do it this time, he's paralyzed by the fear of loneliness and the lack of Husk's warm, comforting paws and golden eyes.
