Elphaba Thropp, was gone- dead. She was no longer.
Glinda never did heed her warnings, for wishing only does wound the heart. This ache of reality carved its path into her, pulling and prying at her softest parts, that soft underbelly of love that she couldn’t put out. Torn apart by grief, mutilated by self hatred and isolation.
Or
Glinda upland had lived months in the aftermath of Elphabas death. No longer can she take it. So she does the only thing she can think to do, join her in death.

And, though exagerated in many ways, there was some truth to the words. Glinda's illnes had started long ago, too long to pinpoint an exact moment. The very day she was born, perhaps. But the particular trigger, the foundation of said rumors, had originated a little under four years ago. The day half of Glinda's heart died.
(Gossip, as it turns out, is an extremely useful thing. It can cause riot and peace, reveal truths and break promises. It can even bring people back from the dead. Isn't that wonderful?)

She’d trained herself to expect the unexpected, so she would be better able to cope with any situation life might throw at her (and working with Oscar, situations were thrown at her often). But she’d never anticipated a situation like this before: a nineteen year old girl with light blonde hair, a grating high pitched voice…and Melinda’s dark eyes.
Later, she would learn Galinda Upland had her magic too: a girl who happened to have the same last name as Larena. Who was, in all probability, Larena’s daughter.
Or: Madame Morrible is Galinda’s other parent. She doesn’t realize this until Galinda’s first day at Shiz. It changes quite a bit.

She has begged the day to change. Spoken different words, held her differently, tried not to hold her at all. But no matter how gently she navigates the hours, they collapse. And then it begins again.
There is no lesson. No progress. Only repetition, exquisite and cruel. And Glinda, trying to remember how to love someone whose death she cannot prevent.
It’s not hope she clings to now, but memory. And the fragile belief that even if nothing changes, she might still change the way she remembers her.

Raya wasn’t sure if that was a good thing or not, yet.
The thought was shoved to the side in favour of following the simple directions Virana had given her to find her beloved. It was embarrassing how quickly she could detect the broad woman with her delectable shoulder blades and adoring eyes from the crowd of people passing her by.
Namaari had surrounded herself with a small hoard of children that had armed themselves with wooden weapons and… blue painted stones?
