    That was the first time Rook had raised his voice at any of them and Harding looked like she may just cry because of it. That such a small elf could have such a booming voice, even Lucanis felt like hiding, but it was not directed at him. Rook glared at his companions before he turned around, an unspoken apology in his eyes, and grabbed Lucanis arm. He pulled him along and outside of the underground room before he could even react. The warm pressure on his arm where skin met skin was all his world narrowed down to. Warm skin on his arm, strong fingers leading him with such a confidence that he wanted to melt into the hand taking control.

    "You belong here,” he whispered as he led Lucanis into his room.
