Summary
There was no word for ‘love’ in the Kremnoan language. Mydei peeked over the edge of the dune, brows furrowed, to take in the sleek, pale buildings in the distance. They stood out amongst the lightening sky, flush greenery climbing up their tall, arched windows like healthy babes to their mothers. Dry grass that slowly transitioned into brighter, healthier patches waved in time with the waves as if they were beckoning him forward, closer to those mud-packed roads and bustling streets.
Or warning him.
A bark and bounding paws were the only hints Mydei received before a wriggling, whining ball of fluff skidded around the dune, kicking up more sand in his face as it climbed in his lap.
Mydei has always thought humans to be weak. How could he not, with their frail bodies and snake-like words? But perhaps even the great crown prince of Castrum Kremnos has a few things to learn from walking amongst the enemy, particularly about his so-called 'sentiments' for the most beloved man in Okhema.

Mother Nyx intended to make a daughter, a goddess who would reap the souls of mankind. Somehow, though, she created a son, a confused young god trapped in the wrong body. Chaos volunteered to remake Thanatos, but for whatever reason, Chaos' transformation wasn't complete, leaving Thanatos feeling unmanned and eternally undesireable. But that doesn't matter, does it, for who would love a god of death anyway?
A certain young god of life changes all that, and Zagreus now wants to show Thanatos how much he loves every single inch of him, no matter how he's shaped.
And it seems that perhaps Chaos had some glimpse of destiny, for it turns out that Thanatos is capable of conceiving a child, and bearing the divine offspring of Death and Life together...

The gods have been having a decidedly less than stellar time, what with something coming from beyond our plain of existence to steal away several of their children in such a way that they cannot communicate or rescue them, and they will admit that it is driving them all a little mad, whether with grief or the need to protect their remaining children from any possibility of harm.
Now, instead of being within camp, where they can keep watch, they have dragged back to Olympus by the Fates so that they can bare witness to what their missing children have experienced since being snatched from their beds that horrific night.

Phainon is generally a laid-back guy, gentle and pacifist, but for some reason, when it comes to Mydei, his competitive side is suddenly switched on. He turns everything into a challenge and will not back down from anything. He will even goad Mydei into accepting his challenge.
So, when Phainon confessed to him under the blankets one day, in the privacy of their chamber in Curtain-Fall Hour, that he wanted to officially be mates with him, Mydei should not have responded with, "Only if you can make me submit", even in jest.

Death is not used to offerings, bribes on the other hand are a very familiar occurance.
“Ah.” Than hums in understanding, not allowing himself to turn and reward the taller entity with his full, unearned attention. He settles for a fleeting sidewards glance, instead. “I see how it is.”
