In the Ordo, everyone answers to Varka; except for one man, who always seems to slip right out of any punishment for his questionable ways. That man is the Favonius’ Investigator, Eroch.
Unfortunately for Kaeya, Eroch is not a good man; especially to those who look like foreigners.
(Basically Kaeya being discriminated against by racism! Things become hard when Eroch constantly embarrasses him and makes harsh comments on the job. Luckily he has a good family who will legit kill anyone who hurts them. Happy people of color month, guys!)

Diluc whirled around, gaping. “How?” The one agonizing question was all he could manage.
Kaeya gave a shrug, “I’m not sure. Like I said, everyone else who was affected only lost a few memories. But... you must have been different.”
“Not that!” Diluc snapped, “How did I change this much in six years? I look... completely different. I feel more like I’m twenty years older- What happened?”After losing six years of memories, Diluc finds himself in an unfamiliar body, the dynamics of people he thought he knew flipped on their head, and Mondstadt itself more confusing than ever. Luckily he has his brother by his side to guide him through these challenges. At least Kaeya is a constant in his life that will never change no matter how many years pass.

Kaeya lowered his hand, breathing heavy. Every inhale felt like fire licking his ribs, but he kept his face smooth.
“Well,” he said lightly, eyes never leaving the caved-in wall, “on the bright side, you won’t have to worry about me wandering off.”

Or, What was supposed to be a simple mission turns into a nightmare when Kaeya and Diluc are trapped in a collapsed cave—surrounded, injured, and without a way out. Kaeya takes a hit meant for Diluc and tries to hide the wound, but with each passing hour, the fever climbs and their chances of escape dwindle. With no one else coming and Kaeya growing weaker by the minute, Diluc is left to keep them both alive in the dark.
