Summary
Thanks to a major snow storm shutting down the Niagara Region (and most of Ontario), I decided to take my irritation of the cold out on one of my favourite teams. :) I am hoping this counts as the obligatory 'blanket fic' that every author is required to toss out at some point. And while I admit to being a Peter/Sam girl, this fic was written with Gen in mind (though if you tilt your head and squint, it's not hard to see what you want), and I hope I conveyed it well. Thank you guys for reading the other stories in this series, and I hope you continue reading all the new ones you inspire!

Maybe they’d just cut the leg right off, maybe they’d slice him down the plastron. Maybe they’d let him die. Wouldn’t that be something, Leonardo, leader, brother, killed because his knee hurt a little.
With that, he pushed his arms to move, blocked the sword, and stood the fuck back up. Pain was in the mind, anyway. What was a knee to him? He could overcome anything, and he would overcome this.

Summary
Peter hauled himself up, groaning in pain. He mentally evaluated himself, testing his range of motion as he stood. he had crash-landed in an alley way, his arm was aching but not fractured, and his leg had a nasty gash that was bleeding through his suits fabric, noticeable even through the red patches.
As he gained more of his bearings, the sounds of the city flooded in and he winced, holding his hands over his ears. There was a robbery taking place in an apartment complex nearby from the sound of all the people he could hear pleading for their lives. He rolled his shoulders back, straightening out and fully and starting forward towards where the alley met the streets.
Helping people. He could start there.

As Coach Wilson peered out the window in the living room, May said, very quietly, “You didn’t realise your brother worked at Peter’s school?”
“We all make mistakes!” Sam hissed.
Then Coach Wilson was leaning back and a figure in a hoodie and jeans stepped through the window and into the living room, and Peter’s heart sank into his stomach like a rock. Sam’s brother was, true to story, scarred from head to toe. He could see the puckered skin on his hands, the burns across his bald head. But that wasn’t the shocking part—the shocking part was that he’d already seen it before: he’d seen it when a certain vigilante’s suit had been destroyed three nights before, and Peter had walked with him back to his backpack to loan him some clothes.
“This is Wade,” Sam introduced.
Sam Wilson had two brothers: one was Peter’s gym teacher, and the other was fucking Deadpool.
OR: A Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Family Dinner, during which Peter and May meet Sam's family. Meanwhile, Tony sends constant text updates about his search for whoever graffiti-ed Avengers Tower.

There’s a moment when Johnny is too stunned to answer, but even in that moment, Peter doesn’t detect even one moment of hesitation or doubt. His trust in Peter is so whole and immediate that he doesn’t even try to deny it.
“How do you know about that?”
Peter listens to his own heart for a moment, to the steady rhythm in his chest, to the way it finally seems to anchor him instead of spiral him into places he doesn’t want to be. Because this, he understands, is where he is needed. These people need help. The kind of help he knows only he is prepared to give. The kind of help that can only come from someone who also ended up with powers they never asked for, in a time where nothing can put a larger target on someone’s back.
"Because I — "
His sense for danger kicks in just in the knick of time; he leaps across the table, shoving Johnny out of the way, just as Iron Man comes hurtling through the window with enough force to rock the foundation of the city beneath them.
“Be … nice,” Peter wheezes. Tony looks at him incredulously, recognizing the setup for a joke before Peter says it: “I’m … unarmed.”

Sam looked tired more tired than anything. Wanda's guitar strumming stopped. Thor kept hold of the steak he had stolen, ready to view the upcoming drama with a snack.
Peter's savior sprung from an unlikely source. Confused murmurs came from around the skeet shooter. Seconds later, Clint's shout echoed in the distance, cutting through every inch of tension.
“I knew it!”

It was a scene the spider was all too familiar with, only he hadn’t swiped civilian clothes from the local vendors. Spiderman, the responsible fourteen year old he is, normally has a backpack with a change of clothes webbed up a wall. Sometimes.
“Do you got a receipt for those, buddy?” He shouted from the rooftop ledge.
Or: Peter Parker slowly moves into Bucky’s “temporary” apartment until it becomes a home.
(Note: “A little bit of this! A little bit of that!” ahh first few chapters. They’re so rough, idk what I was on. The later chapters are better I promise.)

The rain was loud against the cobblestones as he opened the door, but thankfully the awning kept him dry. On top of that, the water repelling charm he placed on his chalkboard had worked. No splashes of water ruined the calligraphy he had spent a whole day perfecting.
Suo tried to collapse the sign to bring it inside, but a yowl stopped him in his tracks.
Guess the sign wasn’t the only thing the charm was protecting from the elements.
Suo crouched down and peaked under the sign.
