You’d been once or twice as a kid, but didn’t mourn the loss. The endless grind of night shifts left your inner child dead and gone.
Working security for a railway freight storage lot wasn’t stressful: just monotonous. The most eventful nights consisted of scarring teenagers before they could add their name to the list of thousands already spray painted across cargo. The owners only really cared if there was hate speech. Didn’t want anyone to associate bigoted messages with their brands.
You’d slid your phone away to make a round through the outdoor facility, certain the story had nothing to do with you. Well surprisingly, you were wrong.

Summary
