Summary
Something bright catches his eye, he stops in front of an old antique store, a long seal fur coat hangs in the window, pristine and gleaming, it glows in the orange of the sodium lights within.
He walks to the glass, brows drawn slightly together, he reaches a hand up and lets his fingertips fan out across the condensation slick surface. Breath mingles there and his own blue eyes stand reflected in the glass, projected on the white fur, a mirage, and the closer he looks the more flecks of golden blonde seem to appear throughout.
It's familiar, on the tip of his tongue, it convalesces like some frail creature in his mind's eye, gathering strength the longer he looks.
He tastes salt, feels water press against ear drums, the world grows muffled and an endless buffet of waves seems to roil through him without ever touching him at all.
---------
Will ends up with a selkie's coat, entirely on accident of course, and it sets off a chain of events that change his life forever. -

Summary
They allow him his neck deep wallow through molasses thick resignation, a slow, awful approach to the idea that this is something he could've prevented, could've fought harder to stop and yet he played into it, acted the part of the forceful hand and bordered in to something merciless when he placed his palm upon the Red Dragon and pushed him down to the bedspread with all the vengeful wrath of the lamb.

In the year 2030, Will Graham lives day in and day out under the thumb of a dystopian world.
Forced to shoot down delivery drones just to get by, he eats what he can from the packages and sells the rest, and always clings to his limited freedom with a white knuckled grip. But one night, he shoots down a drone and someone actually comes looking.

Summary
Rick wakes up from his coma but he's not alone, and he's pretty confident he's not even in the same universe.
This world is just like his, a parrelel thing with the same governments, same countries, same technology, same confilcts and evils, and he's sure it's got the same apocalypse too.
But the people, they all have dæmons- and he's sort of ended up with one, too.

Summary
Rick gets bit.
That should've been the end of the story but, he wakes up and he's not exactly the same.
The biggest difference-- he can't die.
___________Rick blinks up at Negan, bleary-eyed understanding dawning on him when the man crouches in front of him. Fingers grip his chin, smearing the blood there and pushing at his lips to reveal a hint of red stained teeth.
"It's a damn shame you can't die." Negan whispers, the barest hint of a smile filling Rick's vision. "Cause you're not gonna like what comes next."
Negan lets him go none too gently, making his teeth click and his head spin. Rick is left with the chill of a slow simmering fear, creeping like ice down his spine as he watches Negan walk away.

Summary
Wei Wuxian wakes up.
This is not particularly strange nor out of the ordinary. Being awake is simply part of being alive.
Wei Wuxian is alive.
There are stars in his eyes and oaths in his steps. His hands are made not for commanding the dead, but instead for weaving the golden strings of fate. Wei Wuxian is alive, and he has a duty to the world.
He owes the world nothing. He owes the world everything.
(A year after the great evil known as the Yiling Patriarch is banished from the world, inexplicably, inexorably, a god of luck is born.)

Summary
It had been a mistake. Xuē Yáng hadn't intended for Xiǎo Xīngchén to break. That wasn't part of the game. That wasn't fun.
*
After using an impulsive and dangerous technique to save Xiǎo Xīngchén's life, nearly at the cost of his own, Xuē Yáng embarks on a road he'd never thought he'd walk. He and Xiǎo Xīngchén were meant to be together, obviously, but the dark had proven too suffocating for Xiǎo Xīngchén to survive (red on white, red on white, bad thought, bad thought), so obviously Xuē Yáng had to step into the light. Being good couldn't be that difficult. Idiots managed it every day, and they didn't even have Xiǎo Xīngchén's delighted laughter to look forwards to.- Language:
