Scar was worried about Grian.
Of course he was worried about him. Scar didn't know everything about what Taurtis meant to him, but he did know that they had grown up together and that they had been hunting partners for a long time. He knew that Taurtis had been presumed dead once before, and that it had hurt a lot, and that finding out he was alive had nearly given him a heart attack. Now he was gone completely, and Grian hadn't said a word since California.
They were in Wyoming now. That was a long time to be quiet for.

It was as he was carefully examining the leaves, easily suseptible to frost damage at a young age, that he noticed something curled up at the base of one of them, smaller than the length of his palm, maybe around the length of his index finger.
At first, he thought it was a bumblebee, caught in the frost. It had two delicate pairs of wings, as well as a set of antenna that were crooked and pointed in different directions. But when he looked closer, he could see a few more details. Instead of the blob shaped body of a bumblebee, it had a more humanoid figure, with a lankier body. It had a yellow and black striped sweater on, which had made it almost perfect for blending in. It was shivering violently, wings trembling, antenna twitching, and its face—it had a human face—was scrunched up in distress, eyes tightly shut.

How long has he been crying for? How long has he been screaming? How long had he been alone for?
Is he still alone?
"Hey, hey, Scar, look at me, look at me, it's okay, I've got you."
It hurts. His heart feels as though it's splitting in two, shattering into a thousand pieces. He is so alone. He has always been so alone. He isn't filled with loss, because that would mean he had something to lose. No. He's always been alone.
It hurts.
"Scar, please, you're scaring me."
Loneliness is not a new thing for him. It has been with him his whole life. It follows him closely, clinging to his shoulders in a way that cannot be shaken. He is alone and he always will be. No one cares. No one will ever care. He will never make the connections he wants. He will never grow old alongside another person. He will never be someone's most important person. No matter how much he wants it, how much he craves the feeling of being wanted, being loved, he will never get it in the way he needs.
That's how it's always been. That's how it will always be.
Alone. Forever.

Shockwave was a good hero. A good soldier. He followed orders. And every single order he received over the past two weeks was the same as the last.
Capture the Vault escapees and put them back.
There was a particularly large target on the back of Xelqua, the villain who'd killed a hero and orchestrated the breakout. It hadn't taken very long to figure out who had planned the breakout, from what Impulse had heard, all the Hero Organization had to do was question a few of the recaptured villains to see that all signs pointed to one Grian Xelqua. Impulse had read his files a few times, but he wasn't tasked with catching him specifically, not like some of the other heroes were.
That was why he was fully unprepared for him to slam into him from the sky, sending him crashing to the hard concrete of the roof. In an instant, he was prone, a hand on the back of his neck and a knee pressing into the small of his back.
"All alone?" Xelqua snarled in his ear, his knife digging into his spine but not piercing skin just yet. "When will you heroes learn? Splitting up has always been a bad idea."

Or, the romantic comedy where Dean Winchester and Jo Harvelle are destined to get married, Castiel is given the task of playing matchmaker and fails terribly, the entire Heavenly Host becomes a sitcom audience, God warns against male pregnancy, and Jimmy Novak is incredibly unimpressed with angels in general.

When Sam gets the flu, Dean steps in and takes over their stall for the day, finally getting a good look at the town’s flourishing artisan market. He expected a lot of vegetables and snotty-looking juice. What he didn’t expect was a blue-eyed honey seller and his barefoot, slightly-too-honest kid.
