Summary
In the aftermath of a peaceful revolution, Detective Gavin Reed has to adjust when it comes to his work relations. The assholish version of Anderson's android gets assigned as his new partner. Not only that, but an assholish android who deems it necessary to not only question Gavin's professionalism but also invades his personal life. Ironically, the deviant may have a better grasp of living than Gavin Reed does.
What is there to say when you realize the machines you mistreated are no more a monster than you are?

The RK900 thought this would be a simple task. Prove his invaluableness to the precinct, solve cases, and move up as quickly as possible. Annoying his partner was just a treat on top of an already perfect plan. But Gavin Reed may be the one mystery Nines can't solve. Especially when it turns out that the detective and the android may have more in common than he initially thought.
What do you do when your partner turns out to be something more than human or android altogether?

Now, a new vigilante shows up in Gotham, disrupting the gentle balance Gotham had experienced the past few months. Drug trade hits the skies, which means that leaders will begin to fight for control of the money in no time, and the new vigilante, Red Hood, becomes a problem.

The remaining unit is his last opportunity to dismantle the biggest ring of dealers in Detroit … but it's also a total asshole with a bad temper like no other android he had ever met.

Gavin Reed/RK900, sfw but rated as teen due to the descriptions of a murder investigation and swearing.
WARNING: This fic tackles a lot of mature and difficult themes that might be disturbing to some readers. (Namely the cycle of dysfunction, how difficult it is to break out of it, how destructive abuse is, and how fear holds us back.)
Gavin Reed is just trying to do his job and put his broken past behind him. There's something peculiar in the air, though, and Gavin's not just saying that because the body smells rotten. For some reason, this case is particularly strange...
Very noir crime thriller-ish, angst included, though it will have a happy ending if you hang around for the ride! It's a slow burn.
