Aspiring detective Kirigiri Kyouko can't help but wonder if that's really who Fukawa is, but when she discovers that Fukawa is a deaf classmate, Kirigiri is the first and only one to make a real attempt at befriending Fukawa.

“To answer your question,” Celeste smiles. “Yes, I do make my own clothing.” Her accent is fake; Sayaka could recognise a fake accent from a mile away, even without her ridiculous intuition. It’s a perk of being a performer. Celeste’s words bear a very natural affect, but Sayaka can hear the slight discomfort in her voice as it lilts. Her real way of speaking is much more flat. She’s a native Japanese speaker. Just pretentious. Sayaka likes her that way. “When I am able, naturally. Someday I will find a tailor who is well-suited to the task of making my clothing, and then I will step to the side.”
“It’s a wonder that you like Togami so much,” teases Sayaka. “You’re so much more hardworking than he is.”
“Hardly,” snorts Celeste.

The first thing she sees upon regaining consciousness is a bustling, ostentatious ballroom with polished lime floors and marble arches, glass chandeliers hanging high overhead. The only light in the room is the gentle dance of flickering candlelight, and the dance floor is so congested, filled with swirling ball gowns and coy, hushed conversation, that Celeste can barely see more than a few yards in front of herself.
When she finishes her examination of her surroundings, her gaze flickers down to herself. She’s dressed in a similarly fancy ball gown made of glossy black silk that that’s long enough to brush against the floor when she walks and decorated with scarlet red ribbons. Despite its considerable heft, when Celeste moves forward, her heels clicking against the floor, it’s like walking on a cloud. The skirt practically weighs nothing at all. A smile coming onto her face, Celeste does a twirl, marvelling at the way the gown fans out as she does, and only stops, slightly breathless, when she makes eye contact with somebody she thought she would never see again.

Summary
Celeste opens her mouth to deny that, but the words stick in her throat; Sayaka is leaning over the table. She is faking, of course. They are both faking, both playing at an innocent girls' friendship in this game where they are supposed to be enemies. But her smile seems so genuine. The cloying scent of blueberries hangs around her, a sweet and airy perfume, and Celeste suddenly finds it hard to catch her breath.
Celeste's denial doesn't end up mattering. Sayaka stands up without even waiting for her response, and she holds a hand out invitingly. Celeste examines it with a small frown.
"With what music, Sayaka?" Celeste asks.
"Don't worry about that," Sayaka insists. "Just follow my lead, okay?"

In a a dull and violent school life, Celeste and Sayaka share a brief moment of luxury.

Sayaka leaned a little closer, careful not to disturb Celeste’s carefully styled hair extensions, and said under her breath, “Just fine? Shall I feed you like the boys over there?” She laughed softly, nodding in the direction of Makoto and Byakuya.
“You wouldn’t dare.” Celeste kicked her under the table, though not hard enough to hurt. Just enough to make her giggle more, thoroughly besotted with her.
Class 78 has a night out, and Sayaka teases her girlfriend the best way she knows how.
