Feng Xin had been going undercover as Nan Feng for almost a year now with one of Mu Qing’s bratty underlings. Problems arise when he finds his repressed feelings for the general become confused with what he feels for the snarky yet open-hearted Fu Yao. After another successful mission, certain feelings and truths come to light over the bonfire.

Feng Xin’s pants were completely ripped, the middle seam ruined while his ass was half out.

Feng Xin snorted. "If it irritates you so much, you can leave."
"And let you go with such a pitiful appearance?" Not waiting for an answer, Mu Qing continued. "To my misfortune, your name always comes up when they talk about me; I don't want them to think that the Southwest Martial God is having a hard time just because the Southeast idiot doesn't know how to groom himself."

Feng Xin has been helplessly in love with Mu Qing since they were subordinates of Xianle, even lieu of their complicated, resentment-filled past. So, when Xie Lian needs their support after Jun Wu’s fall from power and Hua Cheng’s death, Feng Xin is forced to swallow his pride and get along with Mu Qing for once.
It’s a task that proves impossible for Feng Xin to achieve, especially when Mu Qing is infuriatingly gorgeous and equally insufferable.

“Maybe try relaxing your shoulders?” Feng Xin offers helpfully, a grin in his voice though he’s wise to keep any true laughter at bay. “They’re nearly bunched up to your ears.”
As Mu Qing rolls his shoulders, he thinks back to what got him in this situation. A stupid spar session. This is the problem with change after eight centuries.
