Summary
Shikamaru and Temari have known each other for years and have been friends for a long time. They have been through a lot together and are working well together as a team.
Once again, Temari is visiting the Hidden Leaf village, but this time Shikamaru is starting to struggle to keep his feelings towards her to himself any longer. For Shikamaru, Temari has been the woman of his dreams for years now. What he does not know, is that recently Temari has started to notice him in a different light as well.
An unexpected mission and a set of misunderstanding are eventually pushing them towards a spiral that will end up changing the nature of their friendship forever.

He doesn’t see anyone, but Shiro nods to his left and Keith follows his gaze, finally spotting a man making their way toward them through the crowd, eyes locked on Keith. His breath hitches as he drinks him in, tall, tanned beautifully from the sun, dark hair styled messily. “Oh hell.” He mumbles, but the words are lost to the music.

Keith looked away, not wanting to see Lance light up at the sight of Allura’s arrival.
The rustle of the sheets and Keith could hear the shuffle of Lance’s weakened legs as he crossed the room. He waited for them to stop at Allura, to hear the sound of Lance’s voice crooning some stupid pickup line at her.
The shuffling of his feet went right past her, and all of a sudden Lance’s face was looking up at Keith from where he was kneeling before him. His face was feverish, pink standing out on that brown face like a sunburn. His eyes spoke of worship as he stared at Keith as if he had never seen a sight so painfully lovely.Keith’s heart stopped.
“Oh, raven haired beauty.” Lance whispered, reverence lacing the sound of his trembling, rough voice. “Why do you not look at me when I burn only for you?”

So, Lance has to fight five champions of an alien race to save Keith- wouldn't sound too hard if he wasn't blind from an injury at that very moment. Left to fend for themselves, blinded and injured, two unlikely Paladins must work together to survive. Tensions get high with horrid creatures, a determined assassinator, and their growing attraction to the other.
