As soon as Ace was two steps out onto the deck though, Garp’s eyes snapped directly to him.
“Ace!” he yelled out.
Garp arrives on the Moby dick looking for Ace. Ace recalls some less fond memories of the vice admiral growing up.

If that's the case, he just needs to change things up. To keep himself distant from everyone he's ever known and loved, as many times as it takes for them to survive. As many times as it takes for this loop to end.
