Mika doesn’t respond. His gaze is fixed several feet below his eye line, staring down the handle of his sword.
On the other end, a child sits alone, abandoned, on the forest floor. She blinks up at Mika with big, brown eyes. If she is afraid, she isn’t showing it. Yuu looks between her and Mika; a staring match that may never reach its conclusion.
Shinoa whistles and puts her hands on her hips.
“Wow,” she says. “JIDA is really recruiting young these days.”
(or the one in which Mika stumbles across a child abandoned in the woods. What will win: Mika’s cold, vampiric facade or his undeniable mothering instinct?)

Nagisa just giggled. “I know the arrangement.” And just like that, the two headed out before the rest of the group, chatting away like it was nothing.

Let it be said that Atsushi wasn't in any way stupid.
On the contrary he considered himself to be quite smart. While he was no match for Dazai or Ranpo, neither was anyone else, so that really didn't say so much about his intelligence. Each of the detectives at the ADA had their own methods for conducting an investigation, Atsushi mostly just went along with whoever he was with or trusted his own instincts. Call it tiger intuition if you will.
But one of his skills that Astushi prided himself in was his observation. His tiger senses only enhanced this. Atsushi didn't miss things.
So, understandably, he was absolutely kicking himself right now.

Dazai is torn between his desire to die and his promise to Chuuya to stay by his side. For his part, Chuuya fights to reach him and convince him to fight for his life before it is too late.
Decisions are made, corruption is activated and, in the midst of chaos, promises are tested. In the end, it all comes down to what they are willing to give for each other.
