His breath comes quick, his heart beats faster.
It doesn't do him any favours as the creature crouches in front of him.
Swiftly, the thing lays its hand on Wilburs heart and Wilbur freezes in place.
"I can hear it beating, we all can. I wonder how long it'll take for it to stop and realise none of its blood is coming back to it," it leans closer until they're noses are almost touching, "I wonder how long it'll take until it gives up."
Wilbur wants to run, wants to flee. He wants to just crawl away and hide.
He wants his brother.
His father.
He wants to see that boy he annoys and hangs out with and calls him his little brother again.
But he isn't gonna get that chance is he? He's going to be vampire food and he can't stop it as he hears then shuffle closer like rats to a meal.
Wilbur shuts his eyes, ready for them to pounce and end it all. He hears a loud, sickening crunch. Wet and slimy blood splatter all over him but it isn't his own.
"Don't you dare fucking touch him."

Summary
Tommy looked his brother in the eyes before he did it. Wilbur stared back, begging and pleading for Tommy not to do it. Tear stained cheeks, and fearful eyes begged his younger brother. All he could whisper was a strained “Tommy, please- please don’t do it-” and with that, Tommy did it.

Summary
Rain splashed across cobble floors in a repetitive manner. The relaxing splish splash sounds nearly lolling Tommy to sleep. He couldn’t sleep just yet though, despite his small size the walls pressed in of him, and the sharp edges of stone pressed into his sides. This was all he could do to avoid the downpour though, since he wasn’t able to slip into dry spots like this as a human.
Curly golden fur was dirtied and pressed flat into his sides and he moved about the tight space. He hissed warningly, annoyed as the rain got a bit too close to his front paws. People occasionally walked by with umbrellas, laughing or grumbling as their feet and pants took the brunt of the sky’s assault on the land. Some others sprinted by, hiding beneath coats or all our running for shelter. The rarest would pause upon spotting him, either cooing at him or kicking his way when he hissed at them to fuck off.

There’s something wrong about Philza Craft.
He’s Tommy’s homeroom teacher, has been for over three months now, and Tommy can not for the life of him shake off the terrible feeling of wrongness when he sees him.
He’s a good guy, great guy even. He’s strong and smart and kind and actually helps when someone asks him to, but there’s also something horribly off about him. Tommy sees it in the way his teeth look slightly too sharp sometimes, or how his eyes seem to glow a bit too bright, the pupil distorting to an inhuman shape. Tommy can even swear he’s found feathers way too large for a regular bird around the areas the man has been.
No one else seems to notice, though. So Tommy doesn’t say anything. He’s very skilled at minding his own business now, he’s learned to.

The Warden was the one in charge of the place Tommy had been kept. He wasn’t… he wasn’t mean, not as mean as the guards were sometimes, but he was big and scary and he wouldn’t let Tommy go and -
… And he was out there with the Syndicate.
Or: Tommy finally has a home with the Syndicate, but his powers are strong enough that the heroes will stop at nothing to recapture him. The whole family takes offense to that.

They love him. The whole family loves him as if he is one of their own.
Which makes it hard to leave, and not because Wilbur doesn’t want to.

He only wanted to be left alone, be rid of all the people coming in his house and taking away his furniture. It’s not fair, it’s not theirs.
He wants to be alone.
And now he will be.
Tommy turns away from Wilbur’s corpse with a satisfied smile, about to go wake one of the other two up with a loud noise or something of the sort, when something stirs behind him. Bedsheets ruffle, and if Tommy had a heart, it would’ve stopped in fear and somewhat mixed dread.
The shuffling did not come from the body.
There, rubbing his eyes as if he were just waking up from a long sleep, yellow feathers sticking out everywhere in his curly brown hair, a pale transparent figure similar to Tommy’s own sits inside his own body, slowly and steadily waking up.
The ghost of Wilbur opens his eyes, looking around confused before locking eyes with Tommy. “Hello?”
Tommy’s metaphorical heart drops to his feet.
“Oh fuck.”

Wilbur Soot was a faerie, and a good one at that. He took pride in the fact that he had tricked thousands of souls into slavery and debt, the fact that he had mastered words. It was a fae's greatest accomplishment, and he took honor in the fact he was known as a ruthless trickster even if his father didn't agree with the notion.
When he was alerted to someone stepping into his faerie ring late into the night, he got up with a groan. He really wasn't in the mood to deal with a greedy soul trying to make a deal, but whatever, he supposed.
He stepped into the human world, grimacing at how bland it was. How magic didn't float through the air with every breath, how dry the air was.
He frowned further when there was a blond/e human at his feet, picking from his berry bush. Nevertheless, he plastered a charming smile on his face and drew attention to himself. "Excuse me, you're intruding in my ring."
When Wilbur, a cruel faerie meets a bright young soul under poor circumstances, can he really bring himself to trick him? With open arms, he welcomes the kid in for a hug - but is it an honest hug or truly just manipulation?

And if he tried hard enough, he could ignore the warning bells ringing in his head. He could ignore his instinct begging him to get Tommy to safety. He could ignore it all as his eyelids drooped, too heavy to keep open anymore. And when they closed, he was pulled into sleep’s void. Summary
Tommy manages just fine in the foster system, does the bare minimum to survive and keeps his grades up. He spends most of his time daydreaming about getting picked up by somebody who cares, of having a nice family and being cared for. Daydreams about somebody taking him in and giving him everything he ever wanted.
So, when he gets abducted by some (weirdly nice) people wanting him to be part of their family, you'd expect it to be a dream come true, right?
Not so much.
Turns out being kidnapped is not as fun when it's happening in real life, and he absolutely does not want to be a part of their weird family fantasy. (But after a few futile escape attempts, he begins to wonder what going back into the foster system would even do for him. Why go back to people who aren't even looking for him, when these freaks who kidnapped him care more than anybody else ever did?)

Tommy didn't like sleeping.
Everytime he shut his eyes, he'd be put in a dreamscape that he was scared to truly explore. It was everything and nothing that Tommy ever wanted, and especially, the fact that dreams were the only way that soulmates – yes, soulmates – could communicate with one another. Forgoing anything related to their full name, contact information, and location, this was ground zero for soulmates. And every pairing got their dreams the second they turned into a teenager, as if it was some sort of… rite of passage into teenagehood.

Sure he got caught in a hero-villain fight and then carried to safety by said villain but it’s more of an interesting story now than something causing him emotional distress. It does make him wonder why the villain was so quick to help him.
Like, Sisyphus is a big time villain. A terrifying figure with at least a couple kills. Yet he helped Tommy so easily. And the guy seemed fairly awkward about it too–
Who knew. A villain with social anxiety. And a villain with the fucking moniquer the Blood God. Wild dude.

ORTommy gets adopted by villains without even realizing it but it turns out they're not so bad. Oh and there's also evil drug dealers and absolutely no angst of any kind. He says. Like a liar.
