Summary
Joe never thought he'd be paired dynamically with another NHL player; but then again, he never expected to live through a pandemic or play hockey in a bubble, either. But he doesn't have many years left, and he's happy to take whatever precautions he needs to if it means he has a chance to compete for the Cup this year.
He's hoping to be paired with an older guy like himself. A nice, quiet sub who wants to kneel and chill. A well-behaved and pleasant sub.
That's not what he gets.
The exact opposite, actually.
[Set in the She's My Man universe.]

Summary
He had gone through the whole attracted-also-to-men crisis in the years before, so even though he still hadn’t managed to tell Robin, or even find the courage to say the words to describe himself aloud, the attraction wasn’t a surprise. It had occurred to him when Jonathan had won over Nancy that while he was mostly jealous of Jonathan because he was pretty sure some part of him would always love Nancy, orbiting back to her at any given opportunity, sometimes he was jealous of Nancy, of the way she let Jonathan kiss her, his big hands resting on her face, and actually, in retrospect, the whole hand thing should have become apparent to him way earlier than it had.
All that to say, Steve was well aware he was attracted to Eddie and occasionally dreamt about sucking on Eddie’s fingers, but it didn’t have to mean anything, and moreover, couldn’t. The whole thing with El and the Upside Down derailed his life, but eventually he was going to get his shit back together and back on track, and he couldn’t be doing that and also bringing men home on the weekends.

Summary
A spatula from the cup of utensils next to the stove floats into the air, hangs there a second, and then smacks him directly on the forehead.
“Ow! Fuck, okay. I guess that’s a yes. Are you haunting my house or me specifically?” Him, it’s definitely him, but it doesn’t hurt to have confirmation.
The spatula waggles in his direction, and then smacks him in the head again.
“Fuck! You can tell me things without violence, you know!” The cold feeling he associates with it (her) goes through him again, and it feels like laughter. “Are you…is it…is it Barb? Are you Barb?”
There’s a long moment of silence—or, well, it’s all been silence, but a long moment in which nothing happens—and then the spatula goes hurtling through the air like it’s being thrown and smacks him in the eye, before falling to the ground.

Summary
For the first time since Carla told him about it, he felt nervous. Sure, the toads seemed to have miraculous technology, but… What if they couldn’t heal him? What if he was just past the point of no return?
Kitt wasn’t sure that he could survive it if he got his hopes up over nothing.
And what if it worked? Would he even know how to walk? The last time he stood on his feet had been… almost ten year ago. What would he do? Could he get a job?
And if he tested positive for whatever they wanted? What the hell then?
He got dizzy just thinking about the possibilities, none of them looking easy. They were almost at the ramp leading to the open, gaping door.
“Well, you brought me this far, we might as well go inside,” he said, sounding a lot more confident than he felt.
I have nothing to lose - he reminded himself. That was true at least.

Summary
It only took a few more feet of trodding through the underbrush to finally find his dog, and the closer he got, the calmer Peter felt. Otis was still barking, but now he was close enough to recognize that it didn’t sound like alarm. It sounded like something between 'play!' and 'squirrel!'
Peter realized he was probably spending too much time with only a dog for company.
“Otis! What is it?”
The dog was wagging his tail, guarding the roots of a tree, and as he got closer, Peter saw that it wasn’t actually the tree that got him hyped up, it was the shaggy ball of red fur nestled at the base.
“The hell…”
It was a small fox. At least it looked small, but Peter had no idea how big full grown foxes were. It looked small next to Otis.

Summary
“Dad, I’m ready. Last time didn’t work out because the guy just wasn’t right, okay? Sure, I shouldn’t have let it go that far when I knew it wasn’t a good match, but… This is an opportunity I can’t pass up.”
Well, okay, he could pass it up. Being a regular Spark wasn’t a bad thing. He could get all kinds of specialized, high-demand jobs… He actually had his eyes on an internship at a supernatural PI firm, but well. Being an Emissary would take his abilities to the next level. If he managed to find the right pack. And more importantly, the right Alpha.
Someone he wouldn’t mind doing all the sex-magic and bonding with.
