Summary
Only minutes after arriving at his new workplace, Chuuya has heard all about this notorious phantom thief: Dazai Osamu.
He was called all sorts of things: a fickle scoundrel, a flirtatious daredevil, an elusive genius, and especially, an asshole. Hell, his wanted poster included a photo that was taken by himself and gifted to the police department.
And apparently, he has never been caught.
Thus, Chuuya has developed a (rather immature but bold) goal of being the first to arrest him.

He somberly smiled to himself when he realised, the gesture quite not reaching his eyes,
'As if. But it's kinda great to imagine that I'll run into Dazai san again like that.'It's great to dream.
But when his ears picked up on the sound of bubbles and someone choking under water, he realised lady luck seemed to have something against him today that she was teaming up with lady gaslight.
So, he slowly turned around, his eyebrows twitching at the sight of Dazai's floating legs in the river.
This has to be fake.
Dazai was supposed to be dead.
OR
Atsushi time travels somehow and ends up where he and Dazai first met. The only problem being, he doesn’t believe it’s real and wants the ‘illusion’ to break so he can go back and save the only couple of people left behind in the war.
He doesn’t want to lose the ones that are luckily alive.

It was barely dawn when the phone rang, slicing through the fog of Chuuya’s sleep. He didn’t know why he sat up immediately, why something deep inside him leapt awake with a jolt of unease. There was a tug in his gut, cold and insistent, warning him that something was wrong, that he needed to pay attention.
He answered before he could think.
Mori’s voice came through, precise and cutting, each word falling like shards of ice. “As of last night, Dazai Osamu has left the Port Mafia of his own volition.”
Chuuya’s lips parted, but no sound escaped.
Dazai... left the Port Mafia?

AKA: after Fukuchi stabs himself, hoping to end everything, a singularity wipes both of their memories. Fukuchi completely, while Fyodor remembers his life up until about thirty years ago. There are few things (or a person, rather) that have survived the memory loss.
