aka, a misunderstanding occurs among the Daggers that leads most of them to believe that Mav and Bradley's tension is due to the fact that Bradley is trans. They couldn't be more wrong, and it leads Bradley to reminisce a little on his teen years when he wrestled with his own identity in silence.

A "What if" thought I had at 1am:
What if Rooster ejected successfully from the stolen F-14 when Maverick told him to... but Mav didn’t? What if instead Mav led the enemy fighter away from Rooster’s position only to get shot down? And if Mav were to go down somewhere at sea without a visible parachute (again), well... Rooster would think he's dead for real this time, wouldn't he? And that would utterly break him.
