She laughed again. It sounded like it took a lot of effort but she also sounded genuinely amused. “Doctor, we’ve just come back from Mum’s,” she reminded. They’d popped in with the washing and snuck a bit of grub in, but Mum was smothering with cold so their visit was very short lived. “Picked it up from her. I know it.”
Rose gets ill, the Doctor has a mild moment of panic, then he pulls himself together and looks after her.

He has a place to stay, people who care about him, the prospect of a job. Even if Grimmauld Place suffocates him, the people around him are moving on with their life – leaving him behind, to pick up the pieces of the past alone – and what was once his dream job is losing its appeal day after day. But he's still in a better situation than Malfoy. And he deserves it, a little, after all. Doesn’t he?
"Merlin, Potter," Malfoy murmurs, with eyes so damp they seem about to overflow at any moment. "Remind me not to come crying on your shoulder anymore, I feel even worse than before."

Instead, Uther magically imprisons him and the remaining dragons at the Dragon's Keep. Now, almost twenty years later, prince Arthur regualary comes to check on him. Things change, when he brings a certain manservant with him.
