22/2/26: remember that hinakoma fic in hinata's pov and their struggles of being a healthy couple as komaeda slowly succumbs to his illness? this one's the last one
hinata puts him in a digital world to live out their days as a true and genuine couple, and so that komaeda can die without too much pain, and the threat of an inevitable death is always theretldr; the last installment of the fic you read on new years that was genuinely so tragic it had you crying and thinking of it for 2 months straight - SPOILER: this one's worse

“If our lives were a movie, we’d be static,” Nagito commented, an afterthought. Just like those outdated films, except neither of them knew the first thing about acting. Well, maybe Hajime did, but those were his talents speaking. Playing pretend couldn’t prolong Nagito’s life, no matter how superb the performance.
Another bout of mirthless laughter bubbled from his throat. The sound caught in the contour of Hajime’s collarbone, ringing hollow.
“We all die eventually. I’m not saying it’ll happen today or tomorrow, but nobody knows. That’s why I want to ask,” Nagito insisted, reaching up to caress Hajime’s cheek, “will these memories hurt Hinata-kun? When I’m gone and you sit here on this cabin floor alone, will you regret ever having met me?”
