“I'm not going to any home that you're not welcome in.” It isn't a leap, after all, to assume that Viktor would be imprisoned or worse for what he's done. If this is the prison Viktor is relegated to, he'll gladly share it if it means his friend can have some comfort.
Viktor meets his eyes for a moment, sizing up the man in front of him. There's a softness to his expression that's heartbreaking. Reaching for a piece of bread, Viktor breaks the silence that has suddenly fallen over the room.

Summary
"Sometimes, I wish" Viktor continues, head looking up into the vastness of their creation, the ludicrous size of their invention. He knows the sky is there, he has seen the blueprints of the building, yet he cannot see it, there is only darkness. "I wish we could see our future, see how hextech changes the world."
He hears a huff, and he doesn't need to look at Jayce to know he is smiling. "I think we will be able to see it soon enough"
OR
After a year working on hextech, Viktor is sent into the future by the arcane, a future where he meets an older version of Jayce, one that has just fulfilled the promise of killing Viktor at the commune.

Jayce finds out a little more about his partner’s past and discovers a capacity for jealousy in himself the likes of which he’s never felt before.

“I don’t know how people can do that.” Jayce hadn’t meant to say it out loud, but now he had to answer Victor's curious, raised eyebrow. Clearing his throat, he clarified, “Sell themselves.”
Following his line of sight, Viktor noticed the brothel and laughed. “It is work, Jayce. Just like anything else.”
“I guess. But isn’t it kind of… violating?”
“Eh, not particularly.” Viktor shrugged. “No more than any other physical labor.”
A nervous laugh bubbled out of Jayce. “You sound like you’re talking from experience.”
Viktor halted, and Jayce had to curve his body to avoid crashing into him. Turning, Viktor gave him a long, indecipherable look and said, ”Perhaps I am. Would that matter to you?”

Jayce groans miserably.
“I know, I’m working on it,” he says. “I just want him to be comfortable. There’s been a lot of bad shit in our past. If I can show him that things can change here, I will.”Cait looks at him fondly. “That’s a very noble goal, Jayce.”
Jayce really, really wishes he could agree that any of his Viktor-related goals are noble. From where he sits, they’re all varying degrees of selfish, licentious, unrealistic, and horny.

Summary
It was soothing to see Viktor untouched by pain or struggles of the day, for once without a crease between his brows or a cringed expression on his face. He looked somehow younger, curled to the couch’s backrest and clinging to the blanket that hugged his body tightly.
Suddenly, Jayce’s face felt warmer.
It seemed intimate, watching Viktor in such a vulnerable state. Somehow though, Jayce couldn’t quite bring himself to move his gaze away. He’d love to see his partner relaxed like this more often. But, he supposed, after what the Council had decided to do with their work, Viktor’s brows would be furrowed in stress even more often than they had been before…
He shook his head. There would be time for worrying later. Now, he needed breakfast.

An accident makes Jayce aware of Viktor's living situation. Fortunately, his own apartment is more than enough to accomodate two people.

It was almost like Jayce didn’t hear him anymore. He was crying with horrible, choked sobs.
“What use is the damn Hextech to me if it took you away? I promised, I did, but I couldn’t… I couldn’t do it, please, don’t abandon me for it! I couldn’t do it then, I can’t now, I know I keep making and breaking promises to you, but is it such a crime to want you alive, to want you with me?”
Viktor tried to disentangle himself, but Jayce sobbed again:
“Please, please, don’t punish me, I can’t! Not this, not you! Why do you punish me for loving you?!”

The good news: Viktor took a break at the right time for Jayce to watch him in the afternoon light, when he went to sit on the armchair by the window. It was an ethereal image - the sun caught the wild strands of his hair, dipping them in gold.
The bad news: there was no way to represent this without switching to toned paper.
The good news: Jayce bought toned paper.
The bad news: Viktor ended up looking more like some kind of bioluminescent hedgehog.

Summary
Viktor and Jayce might have been business partners for the past seven months, but Jayce has found that there is still so much he doesn't know. He doesn't know who Viktor was before he walked into his apartment and saved him, he doesn't know what Viktor does in his spare time, and, most importantly, he doesn't know why they haven't talked about their apparent one-night-stand a month before.
When Viktor brings Jayce to a store in the undercity to buy supplies, Jayce learns far more about his partner than he ever hoped. When Jayce brings him back to his apartment, he can only hope to learn how Viktor feels about him.

Sleeping with Jayce Talis was the last thing on Viktor’s, admittedly very lengthy, “list of things to do before he dies.” Actually, that idiom didn’t translate very well; if Viktor did have a list, sleeping with Jayce Talis certainly wouldn’t have been on it at all. Consequences ensue.
