Plain and simple. Stupid saying really.
There was nothing plain nor simple about the way his bones creaked with every movement, the way his eyes dragged across every space like the shadows planned to leap up and take him in. There was nothing plain about the house which keys sat heavy in his pocket, nothing simple about the woman sitting across from him appraising Jason with a look that spoke of what she thought of his appearance.
“If something could be alive after being ran over it would be you,” she said and he would have glared if he still felt it in him to do so.
She says the house is haunted. Jason says he’s going insane. There is no such things as ghosts.

A statue, that much he guaranteed. A marble thing spun in whites and gold, unlike any marble he had ever seen before yet with a face he knew. Nice’s visage, cut into harsh stone and haunting Lin Ling’s every dream.

“You seem to be having a nice time.” The rubble fell from his hands, crashing loudly and cruelly to the floor but no longer in danger of catching anyone under it. Lin Ling heaved for a moment, catching his breath as he glared to the masked figure floating a few feet away lounging as though there were an invisible chair supporting him. Nice. Lin Ling stood as tall as he could facing the villain, still shaking lightly from his exertion.

Summary
“Like what you see?” Ivan asks, snaggletooth peeking over his lip as he gives a smug little smile.
Heat absolutely does not rise to Till’s cheeks. Not in the slightest. “Not at all. If I’m really marooned here, couldn’t it at least have been with someone more pleasant to look at?”
Ivan pouts. “Rude. You don’t mean that.”
Of course I don’t, Till thinks sourly, pointedly not admiring Ivan’s incredibly well-muscled biceps as he moves his medical attention downwards.
Or
Till and Ivan crash their ship on a remote planet and have to wait it out in hiding together until a rescue party can find them. They might have to fight a few Cylons before they make it home, but that shouldn't be an issue--it's not like either of them have any friendship-destroying secrets to mess things up, right?

And trash gets thrown away.Till, by that definition, would be considered trash after he is accidentally muted during a typical experiment from his owner.
