Hatake Kakashi had honestly (and perhaps naively) thought he’d already hit his midlife crisis by the time he’s thirty-two. Being pushed into the Hokage hat after a war tended to do that to one.
But finding himself almost twenty years in the past (parallel universe/elaborate genjutsu/weird drug induced coma?) probably takes the cake for the most insane twist of fate.
OR: Kakashi wakes up twenty years in the past, with the chance to save all his loved ones from their deaths, and himself from tragedy.

Bit outside my comfort zone but I like the relationship between little and big Kakashi, it fluidly goes from hating him(self) to pity to actual caring, it's painfully complex

Gah my heart, big kakashi breaking down hurt moree, also he's not wrong there I wouldve been way less nice abt kicking rin and obito out, all that grief between the fresh death of little kakashi and the loss of his students and og life
Lowkey cant stop thinking about how painful little kakashi's death is, in like those specific isekai comics I literally always get hung up on the deaths / dissappearances of original characters before an alternate / future / possessed version takes over because they just feel like forgotten tragedies, this is the same feeling

Kakashi runs away with Naruto, Jiraiya bunks with them often, they have saved leaf nin twice both against zabuza and during the suna invasion, Kakashi taught Sasuke for a bit, Kakashi pseudo adopted gaara too, tailed beasts chill as neopets in their own forms outside naruto and gaara
Tag says ooc sasuke but he seems pretty in character -- nvm some mannerisms are ooc, kakashi is also somewhat ooc
Sasuke is with Gai and Sakura is with asuma, sakura sasuke and naruto have decided to work together to get jiraiya to help -- whoops nvm jiraiya is dead, kakashi is captured by akatsuki to lure in naruto (itachi's plan, suggested to keep kakashi alive no doubt)
Fanon hatake white chakra has made an appearance, sakumo also shown to have wolf sage mode (vry cool lore here), kakashi has inuzuka mother headcanon

Summary
Kakashi is planning out his vacation after Naruto's Hokage ceremony ( which is more than a year away) when trouble decides to come to town - and Kakashi decides that his life is not messy enough and decides to follow it. Which obviously causes enough chaos that Kakashi wants to now single handedly make things right in a reality which is a lot more messed up than his. But hey, at least in this one, all his genin have their limbs attached to their bodies and his dead teammates being alive is just a minor inconvenience.
Boy, he cannot wait to get back home or rather - to his own reality.
